We would like to thank everyone for the support and feedback provided over these 2 months. Virtually the day after the official launch, we started working on the update. The work took over 2 months, where the most difficult and time-consuming element was creating the free camera mode. A full list of changes is given below:
A locked camera is the one with which the game has been designed in mind. We've added some features for the players:
- set the rotation on the right analog to ‘smooth turn’ or ‘snap turn’
- the feature of inversion of rotation
As requested by the players, we've been working for 2 months to create a dynamic camera that follows Ven. The camera is not locked sideways in this mode. It automatically moves up and down, and the rotation feature itself makes the view always show Ven from a third-person perspective by default.
This free camera mode certainly offers a completely new experience, but we want to point out that this camera is for players more resistant to motion sickness. We provide many settings thanks to which the players will be able to adjust the parameters to make the gameplay in this camera mode as comfortable as possible:
- an option to cover the field of view in the form of a tunnel during rotation
- smooth turn / snap turn rotation option
This camera moves physically and tries to interact with its surroundings. With the user's comfort and better overall experience in mind, it is sometimes possible to use the camera to explore and look around inside certain objects and features of the surroundings.
We've added a lot of haptic feedback when Ven attacks, dies, smashes crates, collects runes etc. - it definitely adds a greater sense of immersion :)
We have analysed each level and eventually addressed over 70 sound issues. Many missing sounds have been added and then all adjusted again.
You have mentioned the lack of any clear information when Ven dies. So we’ve added a lot of dialogs for Ven - audible not only when he dies but also when he comments on your gameplay a bit from now on. :) Ven dialog options can be turned off in the settings.
