“Maybe you pissed it off? It’s kinda edging closer now. I think its feathers are knives. Did you touch its food or something? Maybe it likes you? try giving it a kiss?“

Lucy snapped, glaring at him as she continued her struggle. The mage hadn’t even noticed him before. Another glance and she quickly took him in. He looked about her age, give or take a year or so, surrounded by comics and food. 

“Just like Natsu..” she grumbled. Perhaps she should summon Virgo to help her. No, that would be a waste of her limited ability to summon the spirit. Plus, it would be embarrassing, even if it was only him. 

The book was almost in, just a little more. Her legs were burning. She really needed to workout more. 

“What are you reading anyway?”

“I could help but then you won’t learn your lesson right?“ 

He could help but in total honesty? He just did not want to get up. He didn’t know who this Natus but he really didn’t care. He was comfy and had a nice pile in a secluded spot to do what Demyx does best. 

Nothing. He continued watching the girl, breaking the awkward silence between her struggling with crunches of his cheesy, crunchy goodness. He was rooting for her. Hope she gets her book.

It was too hot to be outside without Grey Fullbuster to cool her down. As a result, Lucy had taken to exploring the library. For a bookworm like Lucy, being exposed too so many new and original titles was as close to heaven as she could expect in the city. 

Deciding on the title she intended to settle into, maybe in the park, she began returning the other two hardbacks back on their shelves. The first was easy, the second, not so much…

 “Come on!” She demanded, trying her hardest to push the book back into place. Up on her toes, she extended her arm as far as she could, her body aching with the effort. Just how did she manage to get the volume down in the first place!

Demyx like reading, those who say otherwise didn’t know the real him. He loved immersing himself into worlds where heroes reign supreme protecting their villages from evil and fighting spiritual demons. When he starts to read it could take alot for him to stray away from the journey. 

Which he did not want, which is why the nobody wound up in a secluded spot of the library, a stack of manga next to him and a bag of Cheesebros in his lap that he snuck in. It was quiet and nice or at least he hoped. 

Aqua eyes rised from the pages to eye the girl reaching for the book, he studied her for a moment before going back to the colored splash pages. 

“You’re gonna fall you know?”

     — ❝ Well, that’ll serve me right for getting distracted, ❞ comes the redhead’s mumbling, removing part of the garment surrounding her hand as she now examines her palm. The cut, whole wide, doesn’t seem to be too deep… Yet even so, a fair amount of blood pours from the wound.

“And you’re bleeding, that is a flesh wound. That is a mighty hurt. Uhm uh like do you need help? You okay? Gonna toughen it out? You gonna be sick? I think I’m going to be sick.“ Blue hues fall upon crimson as a twisting feeling in his gut began to unwind, letting loose waves of sickening nausea. 

“Yup. Sick.”
