The horror of supernatural is how sam starts the show as a young man angry at how heās been abused, believing he deserves better, and by the end of the show heās an old man, centuries old, even though itās been fifteen years, and he doesnāt get angry anymore, just tired, because he believes he deserves all of the abuse heās been put through, because he was born āwrongā.

Molly does pose a fair point; how did Greeley become the way he did?
Sam does a very good job of humanizing and having empathy for spirits. And Dean immediately comes in and stomps his heavy boots on it.

I like this episode. It feels very educational. Iām learning about the ghosts, I learn g what Sam and Dean donāt know about ghosts, and we meet in the middle.
I have a bad feeling poor Molly isnāt going to see David again. And I think Sam and Dean already know the truth about him.
REVERSE SIN: I really love that the writing has taken the direction that we are in the shoes of Molly this episode and that Sam and Dean know more than us. A very fun perspective.

in 11x14 when Lucifer is wondering why he hasn't killed Sam he says "is it become if some sentimental attachment" before he touches Sam's soul / its revealed to Sam Cas is Lucifer.
in 12x07 when Lucifer is decaying on stage and giving his speech about making Sam watch him break all of daddy's toys and all Sam's response it "nothing lasts forever, lucifer"
I think both these instances are so intriguing (they're also both Berens episodes and I *do* think Berens is kind of aware of Lucifer's relationship with Sam to an extent better than some writers however he is not. the biggest Sam understander or enjoyer)
I think the sentimental attachment is sooo essential to how Lucifer sees Sam, and the removal of it is almost louder than anything like. as if it's a foregone conclusion. but I think about it a lot. like Lucifer is mocked for never killing Sam and he brings Sam back to life! he is not a big fan of Sam being gone! I think when he leaves the Cage he has this sort of. concept of being able to be free, and the concept of needing Sam in any way is. destructive to him. like Lucifer having a sentimental attachment to Sam is just. factual. the crazier part about the fact it's in the script before being deleted to me is that he says it to Sam's face.
and then the "nothing lasts forever, lucifer" is perhaps one of the craziest lines in the show to ME and it's not even in it... tragic. In my head Sam still said it to Lucifer in his head. but it's like he KNOWS Lucifer is running in fumes both psychologically and because he's vessel hopping because he's not possessing Sam. so in a way Sam's mocking that Lucifer is decaying him because he's not possessing Sam. but it's so much more than that! Lucifer is FULL of grief and betrayal, and probably heavily impressioned that the Cage and him and Sam were eternal. there was no change. the power dynamic the structure the horror was forever. I think like in many ways a core part of how Sam exists now is running off this. And Lucifer running from it. "nothing lasts forever, Lucifer". Sam knew how to gut him most. Your vessel is decomposing because you can't possess me. it won't last. and neither did us (derogatory).
hi john winchester quick question - why did you leave salmondean alone in that motel room when you were hunting the shtriga? why would you need to? in the showās lore - the shtriga works in annual cycles and goes through one town, ONE, each time. meaning that since the creature went after sam, presumably the motel was in the same town where the hunt was. so why did you need to leave the motel for days? where did you go? and moreover - we see in the ānowā part of this episode that the shtriga isnāt particular with the order of the children. sometimes it takes the youngest first (two queens kidās family), sometimes the oldest (the lay me down to sleep girl from the start of the ep) - what was the plan if itās gone after dean first? samās how old here? four? five? you told dean to protect sam, but did you even think that dean mightāve been the first victim?
like basically all this is proof to me that john was using these kids as bait. he shows up pretty quickly when the shtrigaās attacking sam, once he realizes deanās hesitating (heās 9). he told dean not to leave the room at all for anything (baitās not much use if itās not on the hook.) and probably watched as dean took a walk and didnāt say anything. and then yelled at him later for putting sam in danger. and almost twenty years later dean is still blaming himself for all of it.
Yeah. Yeah. Also: as soon as the striga is gone he packs them up and leaves them with Pastor Jim. Which seems very much to indicate. That he had a safe place he could have dropped his children off at a momentās notice while he hunted. the child killing monster. Instead of leaving them alone in the child-killing monsterās neighbourhood, which is the course he chose, for some reason,
i never noticed sam blowing away/turning into mush and that goofy blood splatter in the end lmfao. like i knew we saw the explosion but not sam in it. just the general fire ball. but this actually looks so Final Destination and i was never able to fully appreciate that... now visualizing ripped apart sam in my head
