Fan httyd dragon (adopt 🤫)

Terrible sandeater

A solitary fire dragon that lives on sandy shores near cliffs, making glass burrows and tunnels in steep banks.

Presumably a hybrid. Has external and internal flammability. Swallows sand, heating it, and then spews out liquid hot glass, from which it makes shelters and nests. Some individuals create unusual structures out of glass, presumably as a "mating ritual" or to mark their territory.

This dragon is warm-blooded and prone to hibernation. It may hibernate when cold weather sets in. When hibernating, the sandeater covers itself completely with glass; the glass cools with the dragon's body, creating a protective shell.
