farming equipment isn't as cheap as most people from the city think it is. like a tractor isn't just a funny shaped car and it damn sure isn't comparable in price.

like "haha they're worried about people coming on their land so they got semi automatics and hand cannons so billy Joe don't steal their '95 F150". but actually they got a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of farming equipment sitting on their driveway and if they wake up one day and the tractor is gone they will literally not be able to keep the lights on.

some people have invested every last penny from generations of work into the tools necessary to keep their lights on but since they can't properly articulate why they fight so hard against the things they "think" are going to take that away, we just write them off as stupid. and while yes, some of them are or will at least choose to be ignorant if it means their way of life remains unaffected, it's important that we don't also choose ignorance over understanding.

how much did your car cost? how much is an oil change? a new tire? an alignment? if it stopped working today would you be able to afford get it fixed immediately or would you have to save up? now imagine what all that costs on one of those tractors.

many of the people who have and own hundreds of thousand of dollars worth of equipment are still living check to check. and for some those checks only come once a year.

when we talk about who should and shouldn't be worried about tax cuts/increases, financial reform, debt forgiveness, etc,.. it's important to remember that being wealthy isnt simply having or spending large amounts of money. it's the ability to have and spend that money without consequence.

I said all that to say this, we can fight for a better world for everyone without becoming as misinformed as those who stand between us and our real enemy.
