Back home in Finland, a young Japanese person had told Tove that their mother had a Moomin figure on her shelf, along with the things she liked best. Now they were unhappy, because their mother had just died and they couldn't come to the funeral. Could Tove help them and the family? And Tove drew creatures from Moominvalley in mourning at this mother's death. That's what they asked her to do. For Tove herself knew what it was to grieve.
