If anyone would like to know about the sigil/circle in My Chem’s “A Summoning”. I’m not an expert with talisamans or sigils, but here we go: The sigil looks to be something like one of the sigils re:the planets that are drawn on magic squares that represent the archangels, spirits, and intelligences of planets. It does not match any in my reference books. I do know that they represent names. Each number on the magic square represents a letter. The line goes from letter to letter in the name starts at the circle and ends where the line is crossed like a “T”. My book says the vowels tend to be left out. It has to be one of the larger squares to be as detailed as it is, I know that much. The Sun,Venus, Mercury, and the Moon are most likely. They’re the four largest, in that order. Mars, which is right before the sun, could possibly also be what they used, but not likely. The letters around the edge of the circle read. “FOR EUR PHANTOMS”, or possibly “FORE UR PHANTOMS.” The “E” is giving me fits. The message is in Theban magical script. Edit: It isn’t the “E” that was the problem. It was the “U”, which is also” V” I started at the top of the top of the circle with RPH, so I naturally thought the V symbol must be a vowel. I completely missed a second E, since it does resemble the “R” somewhat.
It reads “Forever Phantoms”, as in "Like Phantoms Forever”, the EP. That makes buckets more sense.
do your wizards use magic animals?
Yes and no. Many of the beings designated “Familiars” have a human form and an animal form. The main character’s familiar is actually a type of vampire originally created to serve evil wizards and cause trouble. They take on the form of a cat. He wasn’t manufactured like most of the others; he was born a human and bitten by one of those. He’s much more like a business partner/roommmate rather than a servant, since he has the human free will. True Familiars, which are illegal to create, but not to have, are animals forced into human forms by magic long ago. Crueler wizards leach power out of them and use them as instruments. They’re immortal, and often get passed down through families. The rare ones still around keep very quiet if they’re bonded to a lower-tier Wizard who treats them well. Wizards can and do fight over them. The main character’s bestie has a true Familiar that takes the form of a Border Collie. In human form, he’s quite shy and a homebody because he doesn’t want to be confiscated by the local Wizard government. Any magical helpmate with enough freedom and will to do so will seek out the best Wizard to bond with, both in terms of energy and personality. Unless they’re forced by sheer power, which, unfortunately, happens too often, they will find a Wizard that treats them as partner and friend (often lover, as well), rather than a slave. All Wizards’ energy is kind of unstable, as the human body can’t handle having inherent magic that well anymore. Wizards without formal training (Hedgewizards) need some type of Familiar and it always ends up being a species with an animal form. Trained Wizards (Initiate) have ways of dealing with their unstable magical energy without Familiars, but it doesn’t mean they don’t want one of the True, older ones just for the purpose of a power boost. Hedgewizards are more likely to treat Familiars as partners or even family because they need them. Initiates are more likely to treat them as useful tools.
It’s a huge thing. The freedom of the main character’s Familiar is something she agonizes over. Free will versus his being there. He’s remarkably chill about it, because he mostly does what he likes when she doesn’t need his help with her profession, or with her equilibrium personally. She is still guilty over it, because she hasn’t yet been told that being with her was the best situation he was going to get by nature. Huge theme in the book.
Just erased a whole reply by clicking outside its box. I’ll do that one later, i guess.

Question is, did I actually predict August Walker here?
Happy New Year, everyone!
JUST REALIZED THAT NEW FANS WON’T KNOW ABOUT YEN’S UNICORN FETISH ASDJGHSDFJ
The Witcher is ablist? Because Yennefer chose to be able-bodied? Listen here, bunky. Yeneffer was most probably in incredible pain due to her back. She was struggling to walk, so she likely had some issues with her legs as well. It was probably a jaw deformity, not just a simple lump, that drew her mouth to the side. It was a miracle she could speak clearly. She might have had problems chewing and eating. People mocked her and beat her so much she wanted to die.
I’ve been disabled since birth, and I’ve wanted to die, too. My parents, blessedly, have been kind, if overprotective, which has its own issues. Other people haven’t been so kind, and I’ve been slapped around and kicked and mocked. But if I didn’t have to struggle to walk, if I could move my hands like other people do, damn right I would take it. If I didn’t have knife pains in my back and sides from just standing upright too damn long, you’re fucking right I would take it. What the hell do you think pain management is for, anyway? You think it’s “nobler” to physically and mentally hurt every single fucking day?
Get bent.
Actually, my main character can be considered an allosexual aro in a poly relationship. Her lovers are very much also her friends and she loves them dearly, but they all lead pretty separate lives. Even the one who lives in her house and is her familiar/business partner has his own room and rarely sleeps in her bed unless she is emotionally or magically wrecked.
(Probably because I can share a bed with someone, and don’t mind being touched accidentally, but actually physically being cuddled for long periods of time makes me feel like I’m being suffocated. Ex boyfriend also put his arm under my head in bed- so uncomfortable. Hug me, hold me for maybe a minute or two if I’m really upset, then, please, please, please, let go of me if I ask. I don’t get disgusted at other people cuddling-they look happy. I just - - - too long and I can’t breathe.)
Ever see someone whose opinion would really hurt you, but then you look and see what kind of person they are, and suddenly their viewpoint doesn’t matter at all?
Sure, I'll feel bad if it makes you feel better. I'm exceptionally practiced at feeling like a shitty person. It's nothing new to me.
anyone else live under the assumption that they’re constantly doing something wrong
How about the assumption that everyone’s just being polite and any minute now they’re going to snap and let you know how awful you are
Ok here’s the tea…
A biopic about Def Leppard should absolutely be made. Their journey as a band is seriously like no other. They all come from troubling backgrounds and the drummer became disabled after a car accident but he still continued playing for the band!!! If this wasn’t already enough, their songs are inspirational and have important messages behind all of them. They had to deal with a death of a band member which would have been heartbreaking.
In conclusion, their story would make a really interesting movie.
(repost if you agree)
Thank you and goodnight.
VH1 did one. IMO, it was a little cringey. Would definitely be up for a better one.
