Nice try Bioware, but I know the state of Southern Thedas better than you do.

First off, it matters if the Hero of Ferelden is alive or not. When the First Warden recalled all wardens, our hero knew that was a bad call and refused, finally splitting off from Weisshaupt after years of mismanagement and taking scores of wardens with them. Their presence and leadership makes all the difference, rallying southern Thedas once more against the blight. If you have only an Orlesian Warden Commander in Amaranthine they’re less inspiring, but as long as you’ve done Awakening they are a boon nonetheless. There is someone to lead the fight against the darkspawn while other focus on the Venatori.

If you 100% completed Awakenings and also Soldier’s Peak, the Ferelden wardens have never been so prepared. They’re organized, they’re outfitted and they’ve been ready for this for years. Also, if you allied with the Architect then you have scores of strange research to give you an edge.

If Merrill completed her Eluvian then she moves south once again and joins the effort. She’s managed to cleanse the blight before and she’s ready to try it again. And her knowledge of the crossroads gives the south an edge on their movement and supply lines. If Hawke’s sibling is a Warden they accompanied her.

If the Inquisitor let Briala have power in any way, the Dales become the leaders in the war against the Venatori, forming a formidable alliance with Ferelden, Orzammar and the Marches, the likes of which have never been seen. And if you completed Jaws of Hakkon then their alliances with the Avvar and Chasind are stronger than ever.

Of course, if the Inquisitor kept the Wardens around after Here Lies the Abyss then their numbers are bolstered. It may cost Wiesshaupt later, but that’s Rooks problem. And if you completed the Descent, then the Inquisitor and Warden had a much better idea of what was coming and spent ten years getting ready.

They will not be broken.

They will weather this storm.

The cries of a newborn rang out throughout Yonezawa Castle. Watching from the side, you looked on at mother and daughter. Turning to a maid, you say, “Go and inform Lord Masamune that he has a new daughter.”

As the the maid slides the door open, another comes in her place. She looks at you and you nod. Quietly you make your way to the side of the bedding. A maid who was gently wiping the forehead of the mother steps aside to give way. “Megohime, you must be tired. The wet nurse is here, so I can take her.” The young mother’s eyes soften as she looks back up at you. “Thank you,” she smiles as she hands the babe to you. Gently you pass the infant to the wet nurse before gesturing to the maids to help the Lady of Yonezawa refresh herself.

Just as you step outside the room, you run into him. “Lord Masamune,” you bowed your head politely as you stepped aside to let him in. “_________.” Even as he said your name, you refused to take your eyes off the ground. You could perform your duties, but you could not look him in the eye. The two of you stood like that for a few moments, silently, not looking at each other. It was only after he stepped into the room that you finally looked up and let out a breath. There were still things to be done that day.

You looked up briefly from your work to accept it, giving a double take as you eased it off his finger. “Thanks?” You’d expected to see a box, assuming that Wrench had just gone on a coffee run for everyone and brought back some treats.

“You’re welcome.”

But it was just him and a singular donut. Wherever he’d gotten that from.

He nodded, watching silently as he clamped his hands behind his back as you took a bite - furrowing your brows and giving him a weird look before starting to return to your work with mild amusement.

“Cool.” He’d said decisively before fucking back off to whatever he was currently taking apart. Okay. The energy there had been kind of awkward, but it was mere seconds later that you completely forgot it.

The next scenario could certainly be brushed off as simply a drunken slip up. You had all been drinking after a success, celebrating and sharing jokes while lounging in the common area.

Your conversation with Josh had just finished up and you turned, intending to share the joke you’d told with Wrench. You heard a garbled noise and some static before Wrench lurched forward and hung his head down, startling enough that you jolted backwards.

“You okay? What’s up?” You crowded a bit closer after the initial surprise, bracing a hand on his shoulder. He spluttered and coughed before nodding, and you could see liquid dripping slowly out of his mask.

“Did you,” You were already starting to laugh. “Did you talk with a mouthful of beer?”

Another pathetic nod before he was placing the half empty bottle on the table and pushing himself off the couch.

“Be right back.” He muttered out and oh my god. Perhaps it was simply the buzz you were riding but in his absence you and Marcus laughed yourselves sick over it.

The next time you guys had gathered for a hangout, not nearly as jovial as the last and with far less alcohol, a more melancholy gathering. It had been a shitty day for everyone and you’d all congregated on the couch to offer moral support, quiet and sparse conversations.

Wrench gave a heaving - dramatic - sigh and fiddled with his phone. “Alright. I’m gonna go for a smoke.” He turned to you this time, LEDs displaying question marks. “Do you wanna come for me?”

Flashing exclamation points.

“With.” He corrected in a rush, sitting straight up. “With. Do you wanna come with me? Fuck. Never mind.” And then he was practically booking it out the door, leaving you with a startled and amused smile on your face. You caught Horatio out of the corner of your eye, his chin was tucked against his chest and he was shaking his head. Clearly trying to hold back laughter.

You didn’t think much of these things. They were just funny. Maybe Wrench was just a bit out of it lately, and it was all pretty funny.

Like when he’d aimed to lean his hip against the counter when you were explaining some programming to him, and he’d completely overshot it and ate shit.

Or when you two had gone out drinking alone and you’d stumbled out of the booth, and his instinctive reaction had been to reach out to steady you. He’d torn his arm back like he’d been burned when he instead ended up with a handful of your ass, apologizing profusely and ending up with his face buried in his arms for the next ten minutes.

But when you followed that up with the time you bent over to get something and he sliced his hand open with a loud and very aggravated cursing fit, his sudden fascination with getting you food or some little gift when he was out for a while, or the way he’d begun almost stumbling over himself to talk to you or be there one to sit next to you - him being weird didn’t quite cover it anymore.

Okay. You were giving yourself too much credit. You’d seen some heart eyes flashing in your direction. Literal, bright white hearts.

So you made the connection. Maybe a bit slower than the rest of your friends, but you weren’t that oblivious. And you weren’t uninterested. You’d been entertaining that idea since the first week of knowing Wrench, the whole spikes, tattoos, voice-modulator and dorky personality had really done it for you.

You couldn’t recall what Wrench had been rambling about, his half delirious rantings that fit perfectly in the far too early hours of the mornings. Each of you perched on the couch with your own red bulls, keeping the place alive long after everyone had called it quits for the night.

Eventually, when Wrench kept stumbling over his words and cracking lamer jokes than usual, you placed down your drink. Watching the bright question marks light up when you shuffled closer to him, wordlessly grabbing either side of his head and delicately planting a kiss on the front of his mask - careful to avoid the spikes.

Honestly it was a little scary when the usually expressive screen went black. Unresponsive. Slowly, as the fear that you’d misunderstood crept in, you released his face. When you started to ease out of his face he sat up hastily.

Snagging your wrist to keep you from drifting too fair. “Wait, wait, wait.” He spoke in a rush, reaching up to practically rip the mask off of his face. It was his turn now to cradle each side of your face and lead you into a proper kiss.

His lips were warm. Slightly chapped, but you you didn’t really find yourself minding all that much. Soon enough he was pulling you into his lap, running his hands over your back soothingly while the spikes of his vest dug into your palms where you braved yourself against him.

“Fuck, you taste good.” He complimented, which brought a smile to your lips.

“That’s the redbull.”

“Oh.” Was paired with perhaps the sweetest little laugh you’d ever heard, and you were quick to join in until you were both chuckling heartily. And then he was kissing you again, stealing all the air from your lungs and making you dizzy. His hands were firm on your back, just as firm as yours were against him. Reminding each other that this was not some sleep deprived lucid dream.

Teeth were nibbling at your lips, and he kept letting out these bitten off noises that made your head spin, and fuck. You could get used to this.

I can’t believe we finally got a Watch Dogs fan, I hope you enjoy your stay in the archives!

A = Affection

(How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Shows affection everywhere, all the time and with everything he has. Likes to show it physically and with little trinkets he either finds or makes. If he sees something in a store and it reminds him of you, consider it yours (he did not steal it not at all no of course not he wouldn’t do something like that).

Will cling to you even when you’re fighting about some petty thing, he cannot bring himself to let go of you ever. Probably even got you safety gear so he could continue to hug you when absolutely fucking up a toaster or something of the sorts.

B = Best friend

(What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Stupid. Wrench is a stupid little man with no idea how to properly talk or communicate. Either someone in Dedsec told him to finally ask you to hang out or he was high out of his mind, since he hates talking to new people.

Once’s that’s done though, he’d go with you through thick and thin, acting much like he does with everyone else in Dedsec.

C = Cuddles

(Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

If he ever doesn’t want to cuddle, that’s a clone and you should shoot it immediately. Wrench is down to cuddle whenever, just tell him to take of the spiky stuff first because he will not remember.

Loves to cuddle in the morning or after stressful missions the most, he would cling to you for hours if you let him.

D = Domestic

(Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Not yet. Possibly never. He would probably keep moving around forever if you weren’t in the picture. He’ll try to be a bit more domestic if it’s something that you really want, but Reggie still has a need to do society justice. It’s not like he doesn’t want to settle down ever, but he almost feels pressured to help the ones who cannot defend themselves (please take him to a therapist, he’ll be much more inclined to settle down after that).

He is shit at cooking and who do you think made a mess in the first place? He’ll try his best to help out however he can, but for the love of your stomach do NOT let him near the stove.

Stole your pets if you had them and hacked all your devices to be completely useless. You’d have to really fucked things up for him to actually break up with you, so his reaction is (partially) rationalized.

Very committed to your relationship. Would be down to get married whenever tbh, he already knows you’re the one anyway.

He can be a bit brash, but he means well and would never do anything he knew or thought could upset you. Wrench is always very sweet with his words and everything he says, no matter how cheesy or dumb, he means wholeheartedly. Always careful to never upset you.

And if you ignore the spikes and other various pokies from his clothing choices, he is quite gentle. You’d think mans would throw you around however he wants with the way he can swing that sledge hammer, but he’s surprisingly gentle whenever it comes to you, his touches featherlight when caressing your figure.

H = Hugs

Fucking LOVES hugs. Morning hug, getting out of bed hug, brushing your teeth hug, before breakfast hug, breakfast hug, after breakfast hu- I think you get it. Hugging you so much it’s embarrassing.

They’re firm, comforting and can last from a second to a few minutes depending on his mood.

Quite fast probably. Maybe on the first date even. He’s not ashamed to admit it.

Wrench trusts you with his life, not to mention in the relationship. Buuuttttt…. He would be jealous of a screwdriver if you looked at it too long. He thrives off of your attention and wants it on him as much as possible, so no other person may flirt with you, thank you very much.

Gets really physical when jealous, maybe even lifts his mask a lil to kiss your neck from behind or something. Whatever gets your attention off of whatever he’s jealous of and onto him.

Dramatic. Would dip you just to give you a tiny little peck on the cheek. Loves to kiss you on whatever skin is exposed on you, whether that be stomach, neck, hands, eyelids, whatever.

He loves to be kissed on his mask in public, but honestly melts every time you kiss his scar(s).

(How are they around children?)

No, absolutely not. Pets? Yes! But children not so much. He’s scared he’ll be just as awful as his parents and honestly, he wouldn’t be fit to be a dad period.

Him trying to coax you out of bed to “get a head-start” (even though literally nothing is going on whatsoever). He has very little need for sleep to be healthy/productive/awake, so he just goes to sleep at ungodly times and wakes up even earlier. Will gladly stay in bed and cuddle though.

Since he can’t cook for shit, if he wakes up much earlier than you, he’ll go to a bakery and get you your favorite dessert.

N = Night

(How are nights spent with them?)

Probably watching a shitty movie you stopped paying attention to hours ago in favor of flirting or making out. If you fall asleep, he’d carry you to bed and start working on some tiny project before joining you in bed.

O = Open

(When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

When he opens up to you, most likely a few months after you started dating, he’ll dump everything out at once as not to surprise you later on in the relationship. He’s very open with people he knows and never afraid to speak up when something makes him uncomfortable or reminds him about a worse time in his live.

He’ll also frequently joke about his past trauma, so be prepared for that.

P = Patience

(How easily angered are they?)

Gets mad all the time, but never directs it at you. If you’re scared of yelling, he’ll get you to somewhere you can’t hear him, and then scream his lungs out. Or, he’ll probably just cling to you instead, you make him calm down with your presence alone.

He couldn’t really be a hacker if he was forgetful, so it’s safe to say he very quickly picks up everything you say and do. Deffo memorizes all the names of the people you gossip about.

Going to the shittiest looking döner kebab restaurant with you and eating without his mask for the first time in public. He can still see how you laughed at him when the white (very sus looking) sauce dripped all over his chin, only for you to start choking on your food, which made him laugh and also start choking on his. You were very quickly kicked out, but continued laughing together until you got home.

So fucking protective of you omg. Scary dog privileges is all I can say.

He doesn’t need to be protected, if anything, you need to protect others from him.

Everything comes to him quite naturally, he never goes out of his way to plan something, he’s much more spontaneous. But he still puts effort into making everything as enjoyable as possible for you, but plans aren’t really his thing.

Beating himself up over not being pretty enough and his rash decision making. It’ll take some effort on your part to get him to think and act differently.
