Xmen evolution is just such an insane show i don't even know how to describe it. It's a highschool AU from the early 2000s. You can see the influence of 9/11 in real time. Goth Rogue and punk Wanda. The effects of classism are shown time and time again and never discussed. These teenagers are straight up trying to murder each other on a regular basis. Jock Jean and nerd Scott. Wanda gets lobotomised and it's never brought up again. Mystique turns herself into a british lesbian teenager in an effort to bond with Rogue. God forbid women have hobbies: the episode. Rogue murders Mystique in front of Kurt. Fuckass bowlcut Gambit. Period-typical prejudice and bigotry. White Nick Fury. Worst show ever it's an absolute must-watch.
