Just Some Random Thoughts When I'm on Cloud 9 ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ Currently submerged in my Hogwarts Legacy phase... ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ In my 30s era ✧ Mostly SFW Blog ✧ Still, Minors thread carefully ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ HL Audios 🔊 at YT - RBHayes
Story time! I've had this blog for years (and lurked in many a fandom) but inspiration had never really hit me as hard as contributing fanfiction to Hogwarts Legacy - and in almost a year since I've started with my longfic, I've actually been distracted here and there to also write some one-shots for the fandom. So this is me updating my Pinned post and let's see how many more ideas get to tickle my sudden awakening in fanfiction writing! ✨
7 Times the Charm

Summary: It was no secret that the Three Broomsticks can also be considered a social gathering for the latest news, and Sirona Ryan, the owner was at the neck of it.
Or, a glimpse of a blooming relationship she'd observed since that Troll Attack in Hogsmeade.

But really, you could have just woken up in cold sweat from thoughts that you'd shrug off as bad dreams but still plague you in your waking hours.
Come and listen to these 3 short tales of the boys whose lives weren't so mundane even before their 5th year came to be.

Hogwarts Legacy: Read the Unwritten
Rating: Teen
Status: Longfic ✧ Ongoing 📜
Summary: This is a story we've all heard before— a Hero's Journey— one where it was all supposedly uneventful on the surface, until we meet our mentor, before we're then called on an adventure of a lifetime. But there isn’t really just one perspective to a story, and a single good deed doesn’t instantly make one a Hero.
So here’s a different take on the side quests that molded us as our characters, along with a rather sentient Field Guide, and an expectedly sad past that forged a young student to stomach the trials she had to endure.

Headers and Dividers I've discovered from this amazing account here on Tumblr, you are a gift OP! 💕
MC / OC List
Currently a work in progress, at the moment of writing this, I have yet to get around to birthing a boy Hufflepuff and a girl Gryffindor 🤣 i'll get around to creating Character Charts for my other babes one way or another 🥹
One thing to note is that my MCs exist in different universes from each other but my OCs coincide with their respective House MCs:
Let me tell you something they don’t mention in those “10 Tips to Become a Writer” listicles: writing isn’t a hobby you pick up like knitting or sourdough bread. It’s more like a chronic condition you manage. A beautiful, exhausting, completely unhinged chronic condition.
People ask me, “How did you get into writing?” as if I filled out an application form and got accepted. The truth? I didn’t get into writing. Writing got into me, set up camp, and refused to pay rent.
Here’s what non-writers don’t understand: if I don’t write on a given day, I feel a guilt so crushing it’s like I’ve personally disappointed every version of myself that ever existed. Past me, who stayed up until 4 AM finishing that story? Betrayed. Future me, who was counting on today’s progress? Devastated. Present me? Just sitting there, marinating in self-inflicted shame.
It’s not about discipline or motivation or any of those productivity-bro buzzwords. It’s about the fact that my brain literally will not let me rest until I’ve bled words onto a page. The ideas don’t politely wait for “writing time.” They show up during dinner, during conversations, during that critical moment when you’re trying to fall asleep.
The Paradox of the Paralyzed Writer
And here’s the kicker, the absolute cosmic joke of it all: when you actually sit down to write? Blank. Nothing. The cursor blinks at you like a judgmental eye, mocking your existence.
You’d think that someone this obsessed, this possessed with writing would actually do it, right? Wrong. It’s quite the opposite. The more you need to write, the more your brain decides to cosplay as an empty parking lot at 2 PM on a Tuesday.
All those ideas that were screaming at you during your commute, during your shower, during that meeting that could’ve been an email? Gone. Vanished. Evaporated into the ether the moment you opened a blank document. It’s like your brain is running a protection racket against itself.
The obsession doesn’t translate to productivity. It translates to staring at a screen, questioning every word choice, deleting paragraphs that were actually fine, and somehow ending up with less written than when you started. The relationship between “wanting to write” and “actually writing” is less of a correlation and more of an actively antagonistic situation.
The Myth of the Productive Writer (And Why You’re Not One of Them)
And then there are the stories. You hear about people finishing entire manuscripts while working full-time. People who write during their lunch breaks, during their commutes, in those precious minutes between putting the kids to bed and collapsing into unconsciousness themselves. They’re churning out novels like it’s nothing, squeezing creativity from every spare second like they’re juicing lemons.
And there you are. Not being one of them.
You, who supposedly “love writing so much,” who “can’t function without it,” are somehow incapable of producing a consistent thousand words while these people are out here writing entire trilogies in the notes app on their phone during their kid’s soccer practice.
The question creeps in, quiet and poisonous: Do you want it less? Do you deserve it less?
Maybe you’re not a “real” writer. Maybe all this guilt, all this obsession, all these 3 AM sessions staring at a blank screen — maybe it’s just performance. Maybe the people who actually finish things are made of something different, something you fundamentally lack.
The universe seems to be running a controlled experiment where everyone else got the “can actually execute on their creative vision” gene and you got... whatever this is. This strange purgatory of desperately wanting to write, being physically incapable of not thinking about writing, and yet somehow producing roughly the same word count as a particularly uninspired rock.
It’s not about wanting it less. If anything, you might want it too much. The weight of that want becomes its own obstacle, turning every writing session into a high-stakes performance instead of just... writing. But try explaining that to the part of your brain that’s cataloging everyone else’s success while you’re stuck on paragraph two of something you started three months ago.
So What Do We Do With All This?
Here’s the thing they don’t tell you in the motivational Instagram posts: this is actually normal. The paralysis, the guilt, the comparison trap, the 3 AM sessions that produce nothing but anxiety — it’s not a bug in your writing process. It’s a feature of being human and caring deeply about something.
The writers who seem to effortlessly churn out content? They’re dealing with their own version of this. Maybe their paralysis looks different. Maybe they’ve just gotten better at hiding it. Or maybe—and this is important — they’ve learned to write badlyfirst.
Because here’s what actually helps: lowering the stakes. Stop trying to write something good. Just write something. Anything. Give yourself permission to produce absolute garbage. The kind of writing that makes you cringe as you type it. Do it anyway.
That blank document isn’t a stage where you need to perform. It’s just a place to dump thoughts. Some of those thoughts will be brilliant. Most will be mediocre. Some will make you question your entire existence. All of it counts.
Three Things That Might Actually Help
1. Set a timer for 10 minutes and write without stopping. Don’t edit. Don’t delete. Don’t even read what you wrote. Just keep your fingers moving. The goal isn’t quality. Sometimes you need to write your way through the bad stuff to get to the good stuff.
2. Keep a “bad ideas” document. Every stupid thought, every half-formed sentence, every embarrassing metaphor—throw it in there. No judgment. Sometimes the pressure to make everything “count” is what’s blocking you. Give yourself a place where nothing has to count.
3. Remember that writing is rewriting. That first draft everyone else is supposedly producing during their lunch break? It probably sucks too. The difference is they’re letting it suck. They’re giving themselves permission to fix it later. You can too.
The obsession doesn’t go away. The guilt doesn’t disappear. But maybe you can make peace with the fact that this difficult, beautiful, completely unhinged thing chose you. And you’re doing your best with it.
That’s enough.
The Characters Are Waiting (And They’re Getting Impatient)
You want real motivation to write? Here it is, unfiltered and uncomfortably honest:
Remember your characters? The ones living rent-free in your head, having conversations you never wrote down, making decisions in scenes that exist only in the space between your thoughts and sleep? They’re waiting. And if you don’t write them, no one else will.
They Chose You (Now Stop Abandoning Them)
This is the actual truth: those stories, those people, those moments you’ve been carrying around— they’re yours. They came to you specifically. Not to the productive writer who finishes manuscripts on their lunch break. Not to the disciplined one who writes every single day without fail. To you.
And every day you postpone, every time you scroll instead of write, every “I’ll do it tomorrow” that turns into next week, next month, next year — you’re not just procrastinating. You’re abandoning the only people who trusted you to tell their story.
Who else is going to write about that character who keeps you up at night? Who else knows the exact way they’d react in that impossible situation? Who else has spent months, maybe years, building their world in the quiet corners of your mind?
No one. Just you.
Your characters deserve to exist outside your head. They deserve to have their story told, even if it’s messy, even if it’s imperfect, even if you’re terrified no one else will love them the way you do.
ok fine i’ll go write my book because at this point my characters have probably been standing in the same scene for three weeks wondering why their deeply undisciplined author abandoned them mid-plot.
To the students - the real characters of Hogwarts Legacy who we would not have a game without.
"School Sucks!" the NPC replacer mod is available now for PC players.
don’t you hate when real life keeps interrupting your extremely serious commitments like your wip, your fanfics, and the emotional support music group you’ve been hyperfixating on for the past three months.
I’ve been neglecting my boy lately so I’m thrilled to do this tag game. Here’s Damien’s incredibly expensive and very well-cared for bag:
Items:
At least one book (preferably fiction)
Letters (from Sebastian)
An in-progress essay for class
A healing potion
Fabric for binding any potential physical injuries that can’t be healed with a Wiggenweld (old Muggle habits die hard)
A crisp red apple and one sweet (for the munchies)
A hairbrush to tame his long, beautiful locks
The perfect autumn leaf 🍁
His wallet
A stuffed animal ginger cat Sebastian bought him, so he’d stop petting every IRL cat that crossed their path (a good plan, in theory, but alas, ultimately ineffective) 🤭
I feel as if everyone may have already done this tag (eep!), and I haven’t been super active this week, so I apologize if there are any repeats.
NP tagging: @leawshum @amus2110 @amethystandemma @sadlynotanashryver @sapphirethorne @moongurl95 @creampuffcloudsdreaming @honeybadgerdontcare394 and anyone else who wants to join in who hasn’t been tagged yet! 🤗💕
thanks for the tag @theladyofshalott1989 😃 this was a fun picrew to do!
baby B💙 usually only uses her school bag inside the castle and the occasional ingredient foraging in the nearby area when she's not off raiding camps as really, Extension Charms are very handy in keeping things light whether they be for bags or robe pockets 😅
Items:
Random bops or pins either gifted to her or she found around the castle with no owner *fondly looks at the oddly-shaped blue plush*
Parchment (lots of it - from assignments to the usual task sent via post, and her very own hand drawn map aside from relying on her Field Guide)
Wiggenweld and a spare bandage roll just in case, with some leftover Edurus potion and an ointment cream gifted by Sacharissa
Tarot cards for Divination class
Gathered Moonstone and some Leaping Toadstool Caps
Purse for Galleons
Snacks and mint (cant go without!)
And an oddly shaped strawberry plush that she also found around the castle's many hidden corridors, this one also oddly had a curious feline feature (two of which are her favorite! 😉)

...yeah that seems about right 😅🫠

Yeah, see? I deserve better! 😤 Anyway this is me - my correct vibes; a last semester uni student with eye bags from working on her stupid as* thesis, living in a small, creepy (I have a few creepy stories with an evidence, lolllll) boarding house that's cheap, near campus, and close to a convenience store

Pinterest sees me too well! lol. Also, Bugatti’s are my favorite car not because of how expensive or luxurious they are but because a character from one of my all time favorite books crashed one and tore it in half! It was a crazy action scene with demons and a Valkyrie. lol.

Tis me. I feel like I should do this with Perctoria lmfao

I feel like these "artists" don't even read what they're commenting. For one, it was in chapter 1 of 27, and for two, the same text was pasted on another one of my fics not 5 mins later...
also, i've never interacted with an artist who tried to sell this way?
and if these are bots i'm sad that it appears like only bots read my latest fic TmT I love that one
Sometimes I look back on the year in December and feel like nothing even happened. It turns out, my memory is just bad! 😅 It was full of important and meaningful things! 💛
Thank you for the tag @sunnyrealist & @howlborne-art 😍❤️
This picrew was so adorable! I had to make Ominis & Vivian and Sebastian & Ember! 🥹🥰 I would have done all of my ships but that would have taken a while. lol.😅
