absolutely love when you finally reach the fun part of your wip and suddenly every real-world obligation becomes an inconvenience because all you can think about is getting back to your characters and seeing what happens next.

We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.
—Anaïs Nin
i can’t explain the sheer power i feel whenever i accidentally lock in and write 2 000 words in one sitting instead of screaming in agony at my wipÂ
how do i explain that as a non native english speaker writing her debut novel in english i want the language to feel natural and fluid but i also want traces of my native languages to bleed through here and there because they are part of me too and i refuse to write like i’m trying to erase where i come from
writers, instead of asking ai for help, you can always use your childhood trauma and repressed issues to help you with that fic
the thing about phone in bed is that it's so awesome. almost makes you feel like betraying & destroying yourself for nothing isn't all so bad
My hope for whoever is reading this is that your life starts making sense and coming together. I hope the good days are right around the corner for you.
btw you will miss this in 5 or 10 years. memory will smooth these circumstances down like a river stone, and you will find yourself longing for a shade of light or a moment of this particular innocence. you don't know about what happens next, and one day that will be the most alluring thing of all. don't leave it all for nostalgia. have a nice night now, whatever night it happens to be.
[looking at people younger than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at people older than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at myself] its over
it's so sick and twisted that you have to forge the life you deserve from the molten scraps of the life you were forced to have
a kind reminder that you do actually have to write your book. maybe no one will read it, maybe it will find thousands of people, who knows. that part is none of your business right now. your job is to sit down, do it at least once in your life, and see what happens. small step toward your dream, but never back.Â
— Melissa Cox
this job market is a fucking nightmare
what's not meant for you will disappoint you in a thousand ways until you understand
