thinking about how the mask of the god-pleasing warrior fell when xie lian caught hong hong'er in his arms at the procession. that he was meant to be pretending to be jun wu for the performance but instead broke character to save a little boy. just one. even if it meant disrupting the entire thing. how saving hong hong'er revealed his true face to the public. how that unmasked him and created a clear distinction between himself and jun wu from the very beginning. it's the very first thing we see xie lian do, the very first thing mxtx shows us about him. because that act was wholly his own and he took full responsibility for it even (especially!!!) if the heavens disapproved of it. just thinking about it. and how time and time again when xie lian wears a mask, whether it's for show or forced on or used to hide, in the end he cannot help but reveal the true face beneath. that his kind nature can never be restrained. that he will always do what he thinks is right, even if it causes uproar, even if it takes him a while to get there, even if it must be at the cost of his own life. isn't he so wonderful

Furthermore whoever removed the audio jack from phones should be grilled in front of congress. The fact that I need a dongle to listen to music on a modern telephone while 20 years ago I could have simply plugged a universally standardized cord into the audio jack everyone knew how to use is an anti-human move that should be punished.

One of the things I find really sad on reread is the number of times Mo Ran calls himself dumb because he doesn't know something that was explicitly taught by Chu Wanning in their classes (and it happens quite a lot actually) because he is always saying it's because he wasn't listening, right ?

But how much of that is true and how much of that lack of knowledge is because those moments when Chu Wanning was teaching them were good memories for him and are no longer there for him to access ?
