Really though, I was thinking about Kokichi one day and it got me thinking about what his audition tape might have been. I’ve seen a lot of interpretations of pregame!Kokichi, ranging from shy and jittery to exactly the same as he is in-game, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him be portrayed as quiet and stoic. The ‘weird’ kid who spends lunch alone in the corner of the playground. I decided to play with that

I like to imagine that pregame!Kokichi is just as smart as he is in-game, and he used this intelligence to get around the memory wiping thing so he could remember at least a little bit of who he was. This is why he’s able to see through so much in the killing game and know a little more than the others. Also, I love the idea that the reason he auditioned for Danganronpa is because his pregame self also hates killing and wanted to take the game down from the inside to end the killing that goes on there.

Also maybe…just maybe…in-game!Kokichi isn’t the only Kokichi that’s good at lying…who knows :)
