You’d been fighting with the cap for a solid minute before sighing loud enough to draw your boyfriend's attention. Across the room, Midorima looked up from the newspaper with his signature expression of scrutiny. "Y/N,” he said, adjusting his glasses, “what are you doing?”
“Losing a battle to a fucking water bottle of all things.." you grumbled, holding up the stubborn bottle. “Can you open this? It’s killing me.” He blinked, trying not to roll his eyes. “You should’ve asked sooner. You’ll hurt your wrists if you keep applying incorrect pressure.”
He got up from the couch as he sighed and walked towards you. When he reached for the bottle, your fingers brushed his, and even though you practically knew every single touch of Midorima, the littlest never failed to make your heart skip. He hesitated, not because it was hard, but because you were looking up at him with that little pout that never failed to make his control falter.
With one smooth twist, the cap opened.
He handed it back without a word.
“Thank you my strong baby."
He pushed his glasses up, pretending he wasn’t flustered. “I simply applied proper technique. It has nothing to do with strength.” You smirked, taking a sip and leaning into him just enough that your shoulder brushed his arm. "Would you open all my bottles Shin?"
He paused and the faintest blush colored his cheeks. "Idiot… as your boyfriend, it’s my duty. And that will not change.”
You’d been twisting the cap for quite a bit of time, to no avail. The bottle remained stubborn and you decided to go look for your boyfriend for his assistance on the opening of the bottle. Aomine was laid down on the couch, half asleep, one arm draped over his eyes, completely useless. “Dai,” you muttered.
“Can you help me for like… one second?”
He moved arm and looked towards you. “Mm? What’s up?”
“I can’t open this stupid thing.”
That got a chuckle out of him. “Lemme see.”
You handed it over, and of course, of course, he had it open in less than a second.
He grinned, sitting up then leaning down to to rest his chin on his hand. “’Cause I’m built different.” You rolled your eyes. “You’re built annoying.” He chuckled, tossing the cap at you playfully. “You love me annoying, though.” He said as he grabbed your wrist tugging you down onto his lap. His grin widened when you squeaked in surprise. “Don’t act like you didn’t do that on purpose just to get me to touch you.”
Your jaw dropped. “Excuse me?!”
“C’mon, babe,” he said, laughing low. “You're literally one of the strongest girls I know. You think I'd believe you couldn't open a little water bottle." You rolled your eyes. "I got my nails done..it's harder."
“Mhm..okay.” His hand slid up your waist, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper. “Next time, I’ll just watch you struggle a little longer.” You gasped. “You wouldn’t dare.”
He smirked, leaning in close until his lips brushed your ear. “Try me.”
You’d been fighting with the bottle for way too long. And it was beginning to clearly get frustrating. Across the room, Kise looked up from his phone, tilting his head with curiosity. “Y/Nchii, what’re you doing?”
You huffed, glaring at the cap . “Trying to open this stupid bottle before I die of thirst.”
Kise gasped as he immediately stopped what he was doing. “HUH?! You should’ve said something sooner! My poor Y/Nchii struggling all alone?!” Before you could stop him, he was already jogging over, snatching the bottle from your hands.
He gripped it dramatically, flexing. “Behold! The strength of Kaijo’s ace!”
“Ryouta,” you deadpanned. “Just open it.”
“Shhh!” he said. “I’m setting the mood!”
You bit back a laugh as he twisted the cap. Of course it popped open instantly.
"Ta-da! All in a day’s work my princess!”
You rolled your eyes, reaching for it, but he pulled it out of reach with a smirk. “Ah ah payment first.”
“Payment?” He tapped his cheek. “Kiss. Right here. For your heroic bottle opener.”
You snorted. “You’re so stupid.”
“Stupidly cute!" he said, that model grin in full effect. You sighed in defeat, leaning forward to peck his cheek. Except, of course, he turned at the last second, catching your lips instead.
When he pulled away, he was grinning so wide it was almost unfair. “Oops. Guess my aim’s just too good.”
You were lounging on the couch in your boyfriend's apartment, twisting a stubborn water bottle cap until your hand ached. But you weren't all that pissed about the circumstances in the slightest.
“Taiga,” you called, trying to sound pitiful.
He looked up from the kitchen, hair damp from a shower, tank top sucking him in perfectly. “What now?”
You bit back a grin. “Can you open this for me? It’s too hard.”
“You seriously can’t open a bottle?”
“I could,” you said, holding it out, “but I like watching your arms when you do it.”
He froze, mid reach. “You what?”
“You heard me.” You smiled, slow and teasing. “I love being a little damsel in distress with a hot, strong man around.”
For a full three seconds, he just stared at your face. Then he popped the cap off effortlessly and placed it onto the coffee table.
“Yeah, fuck this,” he muttered, voice rougher than before.
Before you could say anything, he was leaning down, one hand pressed against the back of the couch and the other around your waist. His kiss was desperate and frustrated. I mean, who can even blame the man. After a few moments, the man pulled away from you then grabbed his phone, sending a quick text. "Don't think I'm gonna make it early to practice today..."
You stared at the vending machine. Your eye was caught particularly on the pink bottle of strawberry milk. And no matter how much you craved for the milk, you unfortunately couldn't buy the milk due to you leaving your wallet at home. You didn't realize your gazing on the milk was noticed till someone questioned.
“Do you want it?" a calm voice said beside you. You turned and nearly jumped. “Holy-Kuroko?! You scared me!”
He blinked, used to the reaction. “Sorry. You didn’t see me.”
“Didn’t hear you either,” you muttered, heart still racing.
He looked at the vending machine then back at you. “Do you still want it?”
You smiled awkwardly. “Yeah, thanks. I’ll pay you back tomorrow.”
He shook his head. “It’s fine.”
Once he finally finished getting the drink from the vending machine, he handed it to you with a small smile.
You took the bottle thanking him, but when you twisted the cap, it refused to budge. You tried again. Nothing.
“Oh, come on. Why are you fighting me today?”
Kuroko tilted his head. “Do you need help?”
He silently took it from your hands. One gentle twist, and it opened with ease. He handed it back like it was nothing.
You stared at him. “You’re stronger than you look.”
“I play basketball,” he said simply. “And I drink these often. I suppose I’ve trained for it.”
You laughed. “You're ridiculous."
“I don’t mind being ridiculous if it makes you smile,” he replied, completely serious.
That threw you off so hard you nearly dropped the milk. “Wait-what?”
He blinked at you, perfectly calm. “It’s true. You seem tired. Smiling suits you more.”
You tried to focus on the drink, on anything except the flutter in your chest. “Do you always say things like that so casually?”
You were a random girl who just could not manage to open the bottle of juice you had in your hands. So with a sigh you got up from the bleachers and approached the first person. With a bright grin and a bottle of juice clutched in your hands, walked straight up to Murasakibara. The guy was huge, a bottle shouldn't be hard to open at all.
“Hey,” you said cheerfully, stopping in front of him. “Can you open this for me?”
He blinked. Once. Twice. “Huh?”
“My drink,” you repeated, holding it out. “Cap’s stuck. You look like you could crush it with one hand, so…” honestly this was the first time a girl has ever approached him for anything, usually people would be terrified to approach him due to his size. “You’re not scared of me?” He questioned. You tilted your head, confused. “Why would I be scared? You’re just tall.”
He stared down at you, this tiny human who didn’t flinch or whisper like everyone else. Then, with a lazy sigh, he took the bottle. His fingers opened it with ease. The cap resembled like a mere penny in his gigantic hands. .“Here,” he said, handing it back.
“Thanks!” you said, taking a sip before smiling up at him. “You’re stronger than you look.” He frowned. “I look strong.”
You shrugged. “Yeah, but you also look like you’d rather nap than help anyone.”
A small laugh escaped him. “That’s true.”
“Do you want some?” you asked suddenly, holding the bottle out to him again.
He blinked. “Of your drink?”
“Yeah,” you said with a grin. “You earned it, giant.” He stared at you for a long moment before taking the bottle, lifting it to his lips, and sipping from the same spot you had.
You twist the cap over and over again and it doesn’t budge. The plastic creaks under your grip making you annoyed. You try once more, this time biting your lip from the frustration, but it still refuses to open.
“You’ll only hurt your hands if you keep forcing it,” a voice says. You turn, startled, and there he is, Seijuro Akashi. One of the most well known boys to bless Rakuzan.
You blink. “Ah, it’s just a little stuck-"
He extends his hand slightly. “May I?”
Something about the way he asks. So polite, yet leaving no room for refusal. Makes you nod before you even think about it. His fingers brush yours as he takes the bottle, and within seconds, the cap loosens.
“Here,” he says, offering it back. His gaze lowers to your hand for a moment. “You were gripping it too tightly.”
You laugh nervously. “Explains a lot..
His lips curve into that faint smile. "Next time don't strain yourself, okay?"
You manage a small nod, your throat suddenly dry for entirely different reasons. “Thank you.” His eyes soften, a warmth flickering through. “If you ever need help,” he says, “you don’t have to struggle alone.”
Your heart skips. Maybe it’s the way he said it. But there was definitely something stirring in you. “Take care on your way home,” he adds before turning away, leaving you there, bottle open. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the moment you realize you’ve developed a new crush.
