there's zolu everywhere for those with the eyes to see

most underrated zolu moments from opla s2:

1) zoro shouting luffy's name. we're all being way too normal about this if you ask me. like are we getting the implications are we grasping the intricacies are we comprehending the whole entire enormity of the thing. because, see, unlike his animanga counterpart, opla zoro never raises his voice. normally, he is the king of dry humor and straight-faced delivery and barely restrained emotions, but he heard luffy say the words 'im dead' and suddenly all of that went out of the window. mackenyu put his whole mackussy in that desperate growled shout and i think we need to appreciate it more.

2) monkey d. "roronoa zoro's #1 supporter and believer" luffy. zoro says 'me having more swords is for all of us' and luffy nods. zoro says 'i got this' and luffy claps him on the back smiling. zoro says 'how about we go for another round?' and luffy goes 'great idea'. zoro doubts himself and luffy gives him a heartfelt 'i believe in you' speech. no wonder they had to cut the zolu fight from whisky peak: back in s1 luffy told zoro 'you could never fail me' and by god did he mean that. no wonder zoro carries luffy's belief in him like a blade that cuts everything, including himself: he'd rather bleed out than ever let it dull.

3) no need for words to understand each other. luffy just turns to zoro with his glass raised and zoro immediately grabs his beer and gives usopp a shout out. because apparently that was luffy's intention. everyone else follows their lead, raising their drinks but looking a little confused about what's about to happen, except zoro who just..knew. no explanation, no hesitation, just absolute, instinctive understanding. luffy doesn’t have to say a word and zoro doesn’t have to ask. they’re just there, already on the same wavelength, moving in sync like it’s the most natural thing in the world. and it is natural. to them.

in the context of them being them, this is genuinely so romantic

We don’t talk enough about how Zoro tosses his swords aside at Thriller Bark. Once he makes his decision and is told by Kuma that taking on Luffy’s pain would kill him, Zoro removes all three of his swords and just… yeets them. Symbolically, this is huge. This is Zoro giving up everything for Luffy. No hesitation. He even throws Wado!

If the live action gets to this point, the only change I would like to see is instead of tossing all three swords, I wanna see Zoro draw Wado and insert it into the ground next to Luffy; or, I’d like to see him place all three swords by Luffy’s side. Because the swords are his devotion, the swords are his way of supporting Luffy’s ambitions. I would like to think that even if Zoro believes he will die, he’d want his swords by Luffy’s side to fulfill his promise to Luffy.

this reads as zoro trying to make typical “guy talk” but killer is just so openly ‘I love my wife’ that zoro takes a moment before going ‘yah, me too’

before usopp told him 'you know... everyone else is wearing a shirt' zoro had been staring off tits OUT towards the opposite corner. i wonder who he'd been looking at (perhaps hoping they'd turn and take a peek) before going to sulk in his tank top

idk how to say this in a way that doesn't make me sound insane but i love how in opla zoro is able to just..move around the physical space that luffy occupies

whether luffy is standing still or moving like no one is on his path, somehow zoro is always aware of his orbit and knows how not to crash into it

and then there are those moments where luffy is the one who purposefully makes their orbits collide and that's when zoro actually lets it happen
