s9's reintroduction to buck is camera fixed on door, door crashes open holy mother of god style, but it's buck kissing some woman. door slams shut, camera remains fixed.
door opens again, buck's kissing a man. so on, so forth. it's a dozen or so random nameless people; os wanted #letbuckfuck and this is how he's dealing with his grief.
there's no repeats, except we see tommy three or four times, including one time where he lifts buck against the door but can't kiss him because buck's giggling too hard because no one's ever done that to him before.
montage ends with an overhead shot of buck and tommy in bed -- both on their backs, tommy lying lengthways, buck with his head on tommy's chest and his feet dangling off the side. buck's got his left hand brushing through tommy's chest hair while tommy's got the fingers of his right hand twirling buck's curls. the sheets are a mess, but they're covered decently enough for television, but barely enough so we understand that they have fucked thoroughly.
tommy says: "we're really bad at this."
and buck laughs, because: "really? because that was, like, 10/10, ready to go again."
"oh, no, that was awesome. i'll be ready after fifteen minutes and some electrolytes. i mean that we suck at being exes."
camera's now switching between the two of them.
buck turns his head to stare at tommy. "it's not like i wanted to be your ex." Then: "i'm sorry for what i said at eddie's. you just caught me off guard. i love him like he's my brother. that's all."
"your extremely hot brother."
"right? but i've never wanted to be with him. i want to be with you."
he rolls over and kisses tommy's chest, steadily making his way up. tommy laughs: "i wasn't joking about the electrolytes." but that doesn't stop him from grabbing buck's face to pull him the rest of the way to kiss him properly.
and just when it looks like they're on the same page about trying again, they hear a boom, the windows rattle a bit. an explosion, tommy confirms, because he's heard enough of them in combat. buck drops tommy off at harbour because they'd ubered back to his place, but tommy leans in through the window of the jeep for a 'stay safe' smooch, and that's the last we see of him for the season opener.
or, maybe, we see a crashed helicopter at the end of the episode.
