You know what I want to read now? I need James being absolutely jealous ( in a platonic way). Like James and Cordelia were supposed to return to London after meeting Matthew at his last stop but now they are meeting Matthew and HIS MAN. I think Sylvian's reaction if any to James and Matthew will be longing and grief for what he lost. But James? He is meeting his parabatai after 9 months and suddenly Matthew isn't that free anymore? Matthew is also still learning what his relationship with Cordelia could look like so he avoids spending too much time at Curzon street unless Thomas is also there. And James/Matthew train at the institute but Sylvian is also there. And Matthew also is going to spend time reparing his bonds with his parents/introducing Sylvian and they spend time at Hell Ruelle with Anna and Ari, at some point James just explodes. Now that the wretched bracelet isn't there, he feels the friendship and longing and misses his parabatai 100 fold ( which is his normal, james is an emotional guy at his core) and he is so jealous that Everyone else gets time with his parabatai but him. He is also scared that Matthew will leave again. He wants to hold him close and hug him for years and just be. I need feral james. I really do.

the shadowhunter show made me hate luke and jocelyn so much that i can't appreciate their book counterparts anymore and that makes me so sad after reading their story in better and black which was actually quite sweet

Talking about Ty maybe keeping secrets in TLKoF; my crazy, argument-lacking theory is that the corrupted magic of the power source he used is deteriorating his health in a way and I think Kit and him will probably sorta make up by the end of TLKoF and Kits gonna think that everything’s going to be all right now and then Ty’s gonna pull an “I’m actually dying lol”

"if hugh is a bad friend for putting lizzie above gibsie, then claire is also a bad friend for putting gibsie above lizzie." actually, only one of them has spent the past five years repeatedly telling the other to die/that they should have died, making fun of the other's learning disability, and comparing them to their older stepbrother who everyone knows they hate and was bullied by, and it wasn't gibsie. so yes, hugh is a bad friend for picking lizzie over gibsie when he knows that gibsie is innocent in the whole situation while lizzie is the one instigating their fights and saying way worse shit than gibsie ever does, and then he rarely ever defends gibsie. claire, on the other hand, is not a bad friend for distancing herself from a friend who routinely attacks her boyfriend for (from her perspective) no good reason.

this is not a two way feud because if lizzie said nothing, gibsie wouldn't either. 99% of the time, however, gibsie does not say anything and lizzie still attacks him.

rereading the mortal instruments and whats truly insane to me about the whole incest-but-not-really plotline is the fact that NOBODY is really all that concerned with the fact that thats whats happening?? like alec and simon are concerned basically purely for their own unrequited love problems, isabelle is like i think the most normal about it? even luke isnt like 'hey my basically daughter WHAT are you doing'. like idk man for the fact that seemingly everyone knows about their love for each other its just kind of really funny that nobody seems intensely concerned about the incest part. i mean it doesnt matter in the end because their not related but i feel like they should be more worried.

i know gerard gibson is the biggest scream fan, so in honor of whatever the fuck scream 7 was, here is how i think he would rank each movie

scream (1996) - it is the original, and he's a classicist when it comes to movies.

scream 2 - it was almost tied with scream, but obviously the original had to win out. he still names scream 2 as the only sequel to be as good as the original and can also recite mickey's act 3 speech by heart

scream 3 - it's a silly movie and he is a silly guy

scream (2022) - he hates cgi billy loomis but act 3 is really good. he took dewey's death personally

scream 4 - do not be fooled by how low it is on the list, he actually really enjoys it, but it didn't stand out for him and he hates dewey and gale fighting.

scream 6 - he loved that kirby came back, but it just isn't the first one he'd want to rewatch. it's too modern and there's no sidney.

scream 7 - claire was subjected to a two hour long rant about how this was an awful scream movie and they should've never fired melissa barerra.

my problem with the bot tv show is that this series deserves to be picked up the same way heated rivalry was. it deserves to be low budget with unknown actors. it deserves to have writers, producers, and a director who stay faithful to the book while also knowing how to add in small, thought out details that can make the series even better. it deserves to have every shot, lighting, costume, and line delivery be painstakingly intentional, but they're probably going to try to make it into a new tsitp.
