Shooting day #3
This is the last day we will shoot at the Woodlands Community Garden. We'll interview two volunteers of the garden and take other shots at least.
'The Hidden Eden' project is on
Hello guys,
my documentary project called 'The Hidden Eden' has a website now: http://thehiddeneden.tumblr.com/
You can follow the developments of the projects. In these days me and my crew have been shooting around the Woodlands Community Garden. For the next weeks we will be editing what we shot and we will release a teaser trailer very soon.
The largest #rainbow ever seen in #Glasgow, shot from the community garden #figadaspaziale molto #love in #autumn (at Woodlands Community Gardens)
Produced, directed and edited: Massimiliano Milic
The New Trombone is a short clip produced, directed and edited by me. Through this video i wanted to show to the audience how it is difficult to get used to playing a new instrument even for an expert musician. This short was shot on assignment for filmmaking class of the Glasgow University.
Surviving the Penguin: an experimental storytelling
Hello fellas!
Together with my peers I am developing a short interactive horror-film called Surviving the Penguin. This project is based on previous films that have experimented new ways of storytelling such as I Love Your Work (J. Harris, 2003). We would like to make a film that allow the audience to choose multiple potential narratives without being tied to the director or producers' will.
What you can watch now, it is a rough cut developed on assignment for Experimental Media class. We hope to finish the project as soon as possible.

Feature Film (Douglas Gordon, 1999)
I have been watching several videos on the Internet to give me an inspiration for my next film excercise. Today I've bumped into Douglas Gordon's Feature Film, a video wherein the protagonist is the conducter and not, as it supposed to be, the orchestra. It's incredible how these images are extremely powerful even if they are so simple.
Here's below the link to the video:

CONSIDERATIONS:
To make this video me and my crew spent two days, one scene per day. You may notice that there is a significant difference between the two scenes. In particular I believe that the first scene is better directed and filmed than the second one: the actress, who plays Madeline, knows what she's doing and there also are more frames focused on details (extreme close up) such as the fire, the eggs and so on. Instead, the the first day of shooting we were not very aware about how film and direct the actor who plays Philip.
This clip is my personal portrait in and around Glasgow, on assignment for MSc Filmmaking class. Through this project I tried to focus my attention on what I found interesting in and I felt touching related to my life experience.
A clip taken by The Departed (Scorsese, 2005) In my opinion this is one of the best sequence of single shots ever made in a movie.
Shooting day #2 for assignment at the #Necropolis of #Glasgow. I hate the #rain, definitely
Today it was a beautiful sunny day for filming, due to the assignment #2, at the Botanic Garden.
Currently, I’m thinking about to develop a documentary about intensive animal farming and intensive agriculture comparing them with organic livestock production and local food in the area around my hometown Trieste.
My idea is based on the Michael Pollan’s book “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” (2006) and the film “Food Inc.” (2008) about which you can watch a short clip above. However, it is harder than I thought in choosing the topics for my film; I’d really like to talk about all of these topics but I recognize that I need to consider just one of them.
