[COMPLETED] long fic | Sebastian Sallow x Aurélie Collins
[TUMBLR | WATTPAD | AO3]
Seventh year, post-canon/canon-divergent (no gameplay retelling, goblin rebellion or keepers), eventual romance.
tropes: dual pov, slow burn, eventual romance, idiots in love, mutual pining, hurt comfort, suppressed powers, exploration of villain arcs.
CW: [rated mature, no smut.] The story explores themes of grief, loss and trauma. Mentions of murder, family loss, mild violence and sexual references.
word count: 112k | chapters: 30
"If Aurélie Collins had to choose one word to best describe herself, she supposed it would be, to put it as delicately as she could: "completely and utterly overwhelmed." Granted, that was four words, not one, but as she trudged down yet another unfamiliar corridor, she was simply relieved she could string together a coherent sentence at all; after the last few months of hell she'd endured, Aurélie wasn't her usual eloquent self, to say the least."

Yap sesh: So it's been a while since I've posted, but this summer, I'm hitting a milestone in life, and I wanted to give back to the fandom that changed so much of mine. I wanted to encourage everyone to spread a little sunshine and give light to the creators who you think deserve all the love in the world!
Nominate the works that have touched your heart, made you laugh, made you cry, made you want to reach through the screen and strangle the author, or any work from the HL fandom that you really enjoyed.
I'll be giving away a fully rendered cover piece for your fanfiction as the grand prize. And, for those who participated and nominated, I'll also be giving away a companion prize of a portrait of your Hogwarts Legacy MC -- or any character from the game (or Potterverse!) that you like.
Draw will happen on July 25, 2026, ~2PM UTC. For transparency, i'll be uploading the video of the prize draw here on the same day!
More details in the forms, and i can't wait to hear from you ❤️
When he calls you ignorant but looks at you like this …
Couldn’t move on from Frostbite’s art style, so I drew our least favorite Slytherin while blatantly stealing the colors from her new Cardan piece and I think it turned out so well.
But how am I ever going to do that without color stealing?
Well… guess we’re just drawing gloomy forest pictures from now on.
Also color theory is wild because apparently purple + muddy brown = skin color?
TLTR: Reika is a street-smart, chaotic sweetheart who was meant to be a spy but is simply too honest, charming, emotionally transparent - and perhaps a little dense - for intrigue to work on her.
Reika was a street urchin until Viktor Rookwood showed up at the orphanage she slept at. Not lived, because the place was hell during the day, but a warm bed was still a warm bed.
She had always been sneaky, though she never knew why. Her steps were quieter than they should have been, doors seemed to open at the right moment, and people often overlooked her when she hid in the shadows. She didn’t realize that she was subconsciously using magic to survive.
One night she overheard Viktor speaking with the orphanage owner. Reika only understood a handful of English words she had learned while deceiving tourists on the streets, but one sentence caught her attention: he was looking for specifically gifted children. The orphanage owner was ready to turn him down, but before he could finish, Reika stepped out from the shadows and revealed herself.
Her witchlight purple eyes caught the lantern light, and Viktor immediately felt the magic in her. Reika herself had no idea what he saw, only that this stranger looked like an opportunity.
He took her back to his estate and began teaching her how to use magic properly. At first he was ruthless, training her with the same cold precision he applied to everything else. But Reika learned what he wanted quickly, especially when the magic involved instinct, movement, or physical control. And she was impossible not to like - charming, lively, endlessly curious. Slowly, despite his original intentions, Viktor grew fond of her. What had started as a calculated decision turned into something closer to a parental bond.
He spoiled her with gifts and comforts she had never known on the streets.
Still, there was a reason he had taken her in.
Reika’s mission was to attend Hogwarts, befriend the mysterious ancient magic wielder studying there, and uncover the secret of the last repository.
There was just one problem.
Reika had never been to school before.
She couldn’t read.
When a kind student who happened to transfer during fifth year at the same time as her offers to help her with reading and homework, Reika immediately imprints on them like a duckling. She follows them everywhere, clinging to their help and kindness without hesitation. Only later does she discover that this student is the very ancient magic wielder she had been sent to spy on.
You would expect betrayal, secrets, and divided loyalties.
But Reika is far too honest and friendly for that.
The moment she realizes who they are, she claps her hands in delight and happily explains everything - her foster father, her mission, and the reason she came to Hogwarts in the first place. In her mind, it simply makes things easier if everyone knows what is going on.
Telling Reika secrets is therefore a terrible idea.
She assumes she will deal with Viktor later. Or perhaps she is charming enough that he will forgive her immediately. Both seem equally plausible to her.
Desperate to leave her old life behind, Reika does everything she can to fit in. She wears short skirts, jewelry, and keeps her nails long now that she no longer needs quick fingers for pickpocketing. Her hair grows long, and she embraces femininity in a way she never could on the streets, where looking like a boy had once been safer.
She is deeply offended that the Sorting Hat placed her in Slytherin, mostly because green is her least favorite color. She insists she should have been in Ravenclaw, since blue would complement her eyes far better. (No one has the heart to tell her she would probably have to sleep on the floor there, because she cannot solve a riddle to save her life)
Instead, she simply charms her uniform outside of class to change the colors to something she likes more.
Her inability to read goes unnoticed for a while because Reika is exceptionally good at convincing people she is more capable than she actually is. She relies on charm, street smarts, and sheer confidence. If she doesn’t understand something, she distracts people - flirting, joking, or redirecting the conversation until no one asks questions.
But if someone does notice and confront her about it?
She cries immediately.
Reika is a complete crybaby.
Since she arrived at Hogwarts as Rookwood’s foster child, she could not take his last name. Instead, he allowed her to choose one for herself.
She chose Kaguya, after the princess who went to the moon. As a child on the streets, she spent countless nights staring up at it, wishing she could be taken somewhere else - anywhere that wasn’t the cold, ugly streets she had grown up in.
