I looked into the origin of Polnareff's name and found out it comes from the singer Michel Polnareff — and his sister Sherry's name is actually inspired by the song ‘Tout, Tout pour ma Chérie’ 🎶

That song is so beautiful, it made me want to draw something for these two 😭

Thinking about Caejose cat au with really prissy expensive housecat Caesar who always gets planned kitty spa days….only for his relaxing day to get interrupted by Joseph the STRAY who’s always running from animal control. Lisa Lisa (who in this au is owner of the cats) takes in Joseph bc ‘oh Caesar needs a friend!’ And she doesn’t want to subject Joseph to the horrors of their local questionable animal shelter. Joseph and Caesar HATEEEE eachother. Everything that’s habit to Joseph from living in the streets pisses off Caesar who’s gotten very comfortable in his housecat life. Even simple things like Joseph yowling at the door to be let out like a dog to go to the bathroom because he’s used to going outside. Caesar fusses at him because “Just use the litterbox you dumb oaf.” And Joseph is insulted because “EWW you go IN YOUR HOUSE??”

They do NOT get along. They won’t even curl up together bc Joseph gets twitchy paws sleeping in such an enclosed area.

Everything changes when someone’s learned Caesar’s salon days. He’s an expensive cat. It wouldn’t be crazy for someone to try and steal him.

Caesar is lucky Joseph was there fussing over getting groomed when he sees Caesar getting shoved in a cage. He ends up scratching, biting and clinging to the legs of the catnappers. Even getting himself caught trying to help Caesar. They get shoved in a van, and driven miles away from home, where eventually they get free…only to realize just how far they are.

Their bonding comes from Joseph kind of being used to this life, helping out this fluffy housecat. They get into all kinds of stuff trying to make it back home…hmmm hmmm, I have more headcanons about this au

More of this!! Joseph getting into fights with alleycats over scraps / arguments about who was hunting what. All so he can feed both him and Caesar? Caesar who hasn’t hunted much except for toys in his home starts trying to pick up hunting bc he wants to pull his own weight while they’re out there. Even if he misses his perfectly prepared meals from home.

Joseph teaching Caesar to walk on the grass instead of the hot hot asphalt or concrete during hot days. If there’s not enough space for both, Joseph will take the sidewalk while Caesar walks in the cool grass.

Their first time cuddling together for real would probably be when it rains and it’s the only way for them to escape it. Curled up under something with only so much space to spare. They get used to the sounds of eachother sleeping. Caesar says Joseph likes to purr in his sleep but Joseph denies this!! (He does. So much so that Caesar gets used to the sound and he feels he hasn’t slept his best without hearing that sound)
