Do you think that Gaara would like listening to something to help him fall asleep?
As in, they were talking over a report with Baki once. It was late after making it home from the office and Baki had to come in with some last minute reports that needed to be sorted before a meeting the next day. And Gaara's eyes are tired and they have a migraine and they can't focus so Baki is like "Let me read it to you". Gaara is very appreciative and tries to focus so Baki starts going over the report.
He gets halfway through, pauses to rub his eyes, and looks up to ask Gaara what they're thinking and finds them half asleep, completely slumped against their hand. And Baki just stares, considered how fucking tired he is, considers that Gaara has never fallen asleep in his presence before, considers that he can probably get someone else involved in the meeting to cover up this mistake, and puts down the report
Gaara jolts back awake when he realizes Baki is moving and that he almost fell asleep. He's very quick to apologize (which is almost hilarious considering how many times Baki has tried to get them to apologize for way more egregious things with no luck 🙄) and tries to resume where Baki left off.
But Baki just waves him off. He grabs a blanket, an actual book and sits down beside them. He starts, somewhat awkwardly cause this feels more personal than a report, and Gaara just relaxes next to him and tilts his head to see the words
Kankuro and Temari find them slumped against each other with a crumpled and discarded report. They slept straight through their meeting. Neither older siblings wanted to wale them and sent a message to the council
"The Kazekage and Lord Baki are dead :((
Tired of your shit. We'll reschedule later. Go home."
