Ninjago au im thinking about

Basically, instead of joining the ninja, jay becomes a vigilante.

Ed and edna end up dying from criminals robbing the junkyard (uncle ben style) and jay (at 14) runs away and becomes homeless. Master Wu attempts to recruit him but jay is paranoid and doesnt trust this creepy old guy who keeps following him around. The pilots are kinda the same, just without jay and stuff.

Somehow (without unlocking true potential or weilding the nunchucks of lightning) jay finds out he has powers and decides to use them to help people that the ninja can't help. He becomes a vigilante by the name of 'rogue' and is a lesser known protector of ninjago.

A few months into the job he ends up losing his eye to a criminal or something and ends up resenting the ninja because they could have saved him but didn't, just like many of the other people that jay has to save that the ninja cant. His attitude towards the ninja becomes kinda mean and bitter like dragons rising rogue.

The ninja know that rogue is their missing elemental master of lightning, but he never seems to want to stick around to talk or want anything to do with being a ninja. Wu is sad because he knew jay (from a distance cos hes a stalker) as very kind and friendly.

vampires owen was in fact jesus, as they both died (or were presumed dead), were locked in a tomb, was dead for 3 days straight, came back to life (vampirism - also raises the question of if jesus was a vampire) had some people that loved them killed, and probably have a bad relationship with crosses.
