-> Due to trauma, Tim does tend to regress to a more simple mental state when under stress or to self soothe
-> it can come in many ways, depending on where and when it happens.
-> most times, Tim regresses to what "Masky" is. Very detached, and more fueled on instinct and emotion. His brain just cannot cope with the stress so it goes back to pure animalistic survival
-> However, Masky appears when he does not feel safe in the regression.
-> Brian is his CG
-> Brian can sense the shift in Tim's expression and immediately tries to get him to a safe place. That is usually his or Tim's bedroom.
-> Brian covers Tim in a soft blanket and looks over him, making sure he has enough water and even gives him a snack or two. All of which has to put on a tray, as that's what Tim is used to the nurses giving him in childhood.
-> he refuses any food unless it's on the specific biege tray.
-> He is aware that Tim has a habit of leaving, or getting into a Masky mindset while regressed, so he keeps him company and puts on a peaceful show or movie on his phone. He sits there with him, rubbing his back or petting his hair and remains there until Tim eventually falls asleep and tucks him in.
-> Tim finds comfort in Brian's supervision and makes him feel safe
-> His regression is non-verbal and he often uses sign language to communicate, which Brian learned to understand since they're fairly simple.
-> Tim also has a comfort snuggle blanket of a dog that is worn but he loves it all the same.
-> Tim also plays a part as a CG for Toby since he does it aswell. It's one of the many stuff they bond over
-> Toby's regression in contrast is very loud. He becomes rambunctious and wants to play with lego and eat with his hands. His tics get more vocal and he stims by making whistles and clicking his tongue.
-> Tim got used to it though, and always gives him a juice box and goldfish. He encourages it and plays pretend with toys with him
-> Tim finds it healing to take care of Toby and Toby finds it healing to be taken care of and having a father figure
-> Toby is hesitant to show that side of himself to Tim at first but Tim gives him all the time he needs and never gives him weird looks so he felt safe. Tim also helps Toby to gain more healthy coping mechanisms.
-> Toby's comfort items are a chewy necklace, made for adults/heavy biters, and a stuffed bear that he has a build a bear pyjama set for.
-> They usually sit on the floor of Tim's room, and prop up the phone to watch old let's plays to have as background noise as they play with toys or build legos.
-> they both tried pacifiers but Toby chews through them and Tim just doesn't personally like it.
-> on rare occasions, when they're both regressed, Brian sets them both on the couch and puts on a show to keep the occupied. Toby will build legos and try to be not as loud, at least until Tim falls asleep.
-> Jack even joins in occasionally to keep Toby occupied and encourage play that's a bit quieter.
— caregiver ! masky from creepypasta headcannons ( request from anon )
🌲 very secretive, even with you. divulges some information if you give him puppy dog eyes or say you're worried...
🔦 likes it when you tell him about things he's forgotten or blacked out, calls it 'story time' and lets you talk as much as you want
💊 very very protective, hates leaving you with other caregivers. he never likes leaving you alone but he hates having to hope other people with take care of you like he does
🌲 makes you warm bottles and tests the temperature every time before giving it to you
🔦 can't really cook aside from easy recipes but learns how to make small things for when you're little like grilled cheese or spaghetti
💊 likes sleeping with you on top of him
🌲 knows how to burp you after a bottle
🔦 holds your hands at doctor's appointments as much as possible
💊 only lifts up his mask enough to give you kisses or takes it off to sleep
🌲 lets you put stickers on his mask and draw doodles on it
Any slight change in your behavior will have him alert.
Checks up on you constantly ( Lots of "You doing okay?" and "What's wrong?")
He'll sit with you, regardless if you want to talk about your troubles or not, he just doesn't want you to be alone.
He'll offer distractions (Activities, snacks, books, etc), or try to crack a joke or two to lighten the mood.
Won't hesitate to bring you a drink.
"You need to go to bed."/"I think you need some sleep."
If you're out and about with him, he always makes sure you're holding his hand. If not, he'll reach his hand out for you.
"Don't walk behind me."/"Walk in front where I can see you."
He tucks you in at night.
He's very patient with you
He lets you run your course of being upset, lets you cry, lets you vent, and does his best to listen.
Will try to calm you down, he'll hold your hand or rub your back.
If you accidentally break something he'll immediately check to make sure you didn't get hurt in the process, followed by him reassuring you it's simply an item and can be rebought. (He probably will ask you to be more careful, especially if you did get hurt.)
While he can be more on the stern side, he'll never raise his voice at you.
If you are a constant apologizer, he'll reassure you that you haven't done anything wrong, therefore there's no need to apologize to him.
If you're struggling trying to do something, he'll let you try it yourself before wanting to step in; "I can help you with that."/"I've got that for you."
I'm a firm believer that Leon has bad days bc everyone does and that's okay
If he is having a bad day, he'll make sure you know that it's not because of you.
If he's struggling to get out of bed, he'll offer to watch TV with you, or let you color/play with toys on his bed while he lays down.
Sometimes he wants to be left alone; "Hey I need some rest today, okay?"/"I need to go lay down." It might be short, it most likely won't be a detailed explanation as he doesn't want you to feel worried/burdened with his troubles. If you ask if he's okay, he'll only say he's tired, and let you know he appreciates your concern.
If he comes out of his room, he'll immediately try to spring back into taking care of you; "Have you eaten anything?" "Are you feeling okay?"
Loves spending time with you
He loves having someone to take care of, it's very rewarding for him.
If you fall asleep on the couch, he'll carry you to your bed.
If you have a bad dream or can't sleep, he'll offer a spot on his bed, or he'll let you know he struggles to sleep too, and might grab some activities to do to wind you both down.
If you're crying or panicking/very anxious, he'll gently let you know that you're going to be okay, and open his arms to embrace you and let you listen to his heart beating. He might also repeat that you're going to be okay/nothing's going to happen to you.
Sometimes if he has a long mission/day at work, he'll accidentally fall asleep on the couch.
"You don't have to be strong today."
This one's self indulgent and very me-coded
If you're paranoid (me-), he'll reassure you--carefully and gently--that no one's coming to hurt you, and even if they are, he'd never let them come near you.
He'll always ensure that you know all the doors are locked.
Knows your triggers, if he notices you are slowly slipping into an episode or flare-up, he'll try to reroute you and keep you focusing on the present. (Will probably distract you by asking you to count something or asking you to help him.)
If you're worried someone's following you, he'll keep you close; "You don't have to worry about them, I've got my eye on them."
He will really really do his best to not fuel your paranoia, while also ensuring he doesn't slack on making you feel protected and safe. It's a very fine balance.
Checks your closet and under your bed for Monsters (people hiding, cameras, etc. he refers to them as Monsters.) "All clear, baby, you're safe to sleep."
If you're feeling too weary, he'll absolutely allow you to sleep in his bed.
You feel safe with him since you know he's a very light sleeper.
I'm not sure if writing about paranoia is triggering to anyone so I'll put a tw, it's just something for me as I do sometimes wish I had someone to make me feel safe :").
