Honestly sometimes I feel like this fandom is near its end. Obviously I hope Erik wraps up every storyline before he quits but at this point I doubt he makes as much money from it as he used to so his only reason for posting at this point is just passion. So it’s likely that he’ll just quit when he fully loses interest, which, with the lack of interaction with the fanbase or livestreams, it seems that’s already taking place. This is no hate to Erik of course- just an observation.

I also feel like tumblr is the most active platform for this fanbase and within the last couple months it feels like all of the good blogs are just whittling away and being replaced by David stans who are clearly 11. Once again this isn’t me trying to hate on David, it’s just weird that people don’t interact with other parts of Redacted.

Overall I just kinda want some reassurance that there are still active people in this fanbase who enjoy all of Redacted and aren’t leaving any time soon. I don’t wanna be one of the last fans left, I love Redacted too much :,)

i feel like people tend to see darlin is very angry. they associate them with edgier songs, give them a leather jacket, they’re surrounded by their past

and i’m not saying i don’t agree! but i also like thinking of their softness.

primarily i was listening to noah kahan, and his songs remind me a lot of them. that same anger and hurt, but in a softer gentler way. i think they’ve learned to be softer

my lovely oc is russian and has a russian accent

imagine lovely speaking their native tongue when they’re stressed and vincent just staring at them, listening. he may not understand, but he’s listening.

after the first time they do it, he tries to learn the basics so next time they need to vent without forcing it into english, he can understand the bits and pieces. and tell them he loves them and he’s they’re for them, in their native tongue.

sure, david hasn’t had much lore or angst. but that’s also bc erik is just focusing on other characters to give that too now. our og boys had their time to shine, he’s just spreading the wealth. idk y’all confuse me

wasn’t on tumblr for a few days and i see there’s discourse

here’s my unprompted 2 cents based off a post i saw

unfortunately, there are some people in this fandom that will always see erik’s videos as purely boyfriend asmr. that’s what it is, it IS boyfriend asmr. but it is so much more than that. it is worldbuilding, complex characters and relationships, advanced plots.

erik is a writer at heart. he’s talking about how he’s always had a love for writing. THAT is the point of the channel. he caters to the boyfriend asmr world, but y’all, there’s a reason why it’s “redacted audio” and not “redacted asmr” now. this is his medium as an AUTHOR. and a lot of the tropes he uses tend to be trying to cater to the demographic of people searching for big dom werewolves in their ears. but if you look past that catering, you see the true beautiful world that he has created. and THAT is what truly matters.
