i am once again asking you to watch the 2019 shakespeare in the park production of much ado about nothing
Films watched in 2023 (5/?)
I urge you to see this, it's SO GOOD!! I don't think I've ever heard or seen Shakespeare performed so naturally and flowingly, it's just *chef's kiss*!
Here's the full production on Archive.org.
everyone please tell me the best film you've watched this year since this year's coming to an end soon. or if that's too difficult, just one you really liked. im curious!!
I am highly enjoying discovering Alan Bates's filmography, there are so many gems.
I am currently re-watching "Butley" for the third time. His character – the eponymous Butley – is such a vile character but so well written and acted to perfection by Bates!
"Separate Tables" (1983) - John Schlesinger
Films I've watched in 2023 (4/?)
Full film can be found here on Archive.org (it's a compilation post of several obscure television films individually uploaded.) The image quality isn't the best, but it is very well worth the watch!
Richard Burton as the Rev. T. Lawrence Shannon in "The Night of the Iguana" (1964, J. Huston)
Athos vs Rochefort - The Four Musketeers (1974)
Terence Stamp as Sgt. Francis "Frank" Troy in "Far from the Madding Crowd" (1967, J. Schlesinger)
That's it. We are officially up to date. For the time being (until my other blog is restored) I'll be posting primarily on this one.
Well, 2023 has been officially kicked off with an Alan Bates marathon, three films on the 1st. Not a bad start to the year. Not a bad start at all.
