Rumor: DEW Rebrand Incoming in the US

If leaks prove to be correct, the Mountain Dew brand will soon get a major visual refresh in the United States - reverting away from the abbreviated “MTN Dew” mid-2000’a texting-inspired style, and embracing the drink’s full name spelled out in a style very similar to the late-90’s / early 2000’s Dew branding.

If legitimate, this would be the first major change to Mountain Dew’s visual identity since 2008 / 2009! It would be interesting to see how packaging for the modern flavor variants adapt to this more “retro” feeling design.

In 2023, PepsiCo. unveiled the new visual identity for the Pepsi product line, which was also very much a return-to-form. Canada has been using a spelled-out version of the “MTN Dew” design for over a decade.

How come you have such awful customer service? Over 20+ hours on hold over 5 days and no one answers. Numerous emails ignored or cases closed! Still 3 orders are messed up and your company does NOT care!

Y’all still alive? I am! Currently having a DEW renaissance and attempting to try out all of the restaurant exclusive flavors.

This one, MTN Dew Vibe, is exclusive to Which Wich locations and is described as “DEW Charged with Lemonade Flavor & Other Natural Flavors." My take: while it was a fairly refreshing beverage that pairs well with the restaurant’s sandwiches, it didn’t bring anything new to the table and is easily outshined by other lemonade variants such as 2014’s Lemonade Game Fuel and the new raspberry lemonade Spark.

Leak: MTN Dew Typhoon May Be Returning After 10 Year Absence

If the leaked image above is any indication, we may be seeing MTN Dew Typhoon become available again at some point in the future! This image was found amongst the files on the official PepsiCo contact site and shared to r/MountainDew by u/alphysismywaifu. Given that only the 16oz. can render was found, some fans speculate that it could be a Dew Store exclusive, much like Cake Smash and Flamin’ Hot flavors were this year.

The tropical punch-flavored Dew first garnered quite a following in 2010, when it competed against White Out and Distortion in the second DEWmocrwcy campaign, but eventually lost to the former. Typhoon then saw a short return to store shelves in summer 2011 during the Back by Popular DEWmand promotion, and it was available as a freeze flavor at Taco Bell locations between 2013 and 2014. It has a distinctive fruit punch flavor and bright red-orange color, not unlike Baja Punch, which debuted this past summer.

Whether or not the flavor will be released in store shelves remains to be seen, but you can rest assured we will keep you updated here!
