Hi there! Would you be open to maybe some 💟, please? With either Kyle and Eric, or Troy and Harris (or another couple, your choice!)- whichever you feel more like writing for!! 💕
of course, one 💟cuddling + troy/harris, coming right up! this turned out tooth-rottingly sweet lol
valentine's day prompts are still open 💌 sexy version or romantic version
---
Troy thinks that if cuddling was an olympic discipline, Harris would have won gold ten times over by now.
It’s probably obvious just by looking at him; Harris looks like the cuddliest person alive. And he is. And Troy will be eternally grateful for him.
SKIP SHARING CLOTHES. I REPEAT. KIP WORE SCOTT'S HOODIE WHEN HE WAS AWAY 😭❤️
does anyone know any natural hand positions for when you're a guest at someone's house and they won't let you help with something so you have to sit there and watch them and also you're gay and it's your situationship and you've never been to his house before and he's leaving you alone in the room and he definitely will know if your hand position is weird or gay or weird and gay? time sensitive. asking for a friend.
Shane's mind 24/7:
Been watching a couple of reaction videos to Heater Rivalry episode 3 and something I'm noticing is that first-time watchers don't know that Scott's an orphan until the very end of the episode.
And storytelling-wise, that's fascinating.
You see Scott with Kip, and he's completely smitten. He keeps coming to Straw + Berry to see Kip. He drops all his fears to anxiously ask Kip out and invites him back to his place, all while stuttering, yet sure in his invite. (Gonna write about that) He confesses his feelings Kip the morning after with a monologue akin to a proposal, and asks Kip to stay. He revels in domesticity, pouncing on Kip because he made him a smoothie for breakfast, because he waited for Scott to come back from practice on the couch by the door, because he made pasta salad how Scott likes, because Kip bought him socks that reminded him of Scott.
And that's sweet and all, you get the sense that Scott is falling in love hard and fast. (Kip too obviously, but for this post I'm focusing on Scott)
Then you have their talk where essentially, they break up. And it's sad, and helpless, and you see the two people you just spent the last 40 minutes building a life together drift apart. And that's really depressing.
But then, at the end, as Kip is leaving, the audience learns that Scott lost his parents young, that Scott has been alone longer than he has had family.
And suddenly that puts how he acts with Kip in a whole new light.
He's intense with his emotions because he had so much love but no one to give it to until Kip, so he pours everything out. He asks Kip to stay because no one stayed with him since he was 12. He gets turned on by domesticity because he stopped having domestic interactions with anyone since his parents died, no one to ask "how was practice", no one to cook for him, no one to buy him clothes, and then Kip comes and fills up that aching hole in his heart that lost his home/family as a kid.
In the book, Scott keeps thinking "I can't lose him", "I can't lose you". (and yes this is my copy of Game Changer lol)
He holds onto Kip so fiercely because he has loved and lost as a child, and that hurt him so much. But suddenly the love of his life coming into his world, and Scott, who has loved and lost, cannot bear the thought of losing Kip.
Which makes the breakup(?) at the end of episode 3 all the more painful. (gonna write about that too) Because all of Scott's intensity is exactly because he's scared of losing Kip, and now he lost him.
And from a storytelling perspective, this is excellent: announcing Scott's "orphan" identity after everything doesn't change the previous perception of their relationship, it elevates it. It explains Scott's approach to his relationship in retrospect. It makes the audience see the episode in a whole new light immediately after the fact.
This arrangement was so fucking smart.
Uh, there's pasta salad in the fridge. Chicken, no feta.
Oh yeah? From where?
From me. I made it.
