Just go watch a classic episode of T&J. I don’t even know why they made a movie. The only reason I even wanted to watch this is Michael Peña and Ken Jeong. Again, dodged a bullet by seeing this at home instead of theaters. I’m cutting it off with 30+ minutes left cuz this feels like a painful waste of time. Just bc it’s a kids’ movie doesn’t mean it gets graded on a curve, sorry.

Does Wanda’s sacrifice remind you of Diana’s sacrifice in WW84? (⚠️spoilers ahead⚠️) Both women had to give up their loved ones so they could defeat the bad guy. AND both ladies brought back their boyfriends from death while thousands of innocent and unwilling people suffered because of it... just sayin, Wanda is a villain. A very likable, relatable, tragic villain. I think this whole series is a statement on how far anyone would go to bring back someone they truly loved, whether that be a parent, significant other, a dear friend and so on.

One twist for me was that part of Agatha’s powers is taking power from the ‘undeserving’. That made the fight a bit more even cuz otherwise it would’ve been over way too fast. Still, not as interesting as a Scarlet Witch v. White Vision could have been. Maybe another time (or movie).

SN: Did you cry, just...like a tear...maybe two towards the end? Lol ok same 🤷🏽‍♀️

“That accent really comes and goes, doesn’t it?!” 😂 I’ve really enjoyed watching the dynamic between Agnes and Wanda throughout this series. But now that Agatha kidnapped Wanda’s sons, their dynamic becomes a lot more dark and serious which is exactly what this episode was. ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ I was starting to think they could do an ‘American Horror Story: Coven’-type episode, but my original instinct was right, they did away with the whole tv show theme all together. Notice right before the end credits the ‘Please Stand By’ wasn’t there? I almost wanna say they also didn’t have a commercial in this episode except the fact they definitely crammed a Buick ad in there I know you saw it.

This episode dragged a lot for me. WHERE DID MONICA GO? She’s there to help Wanda but she gave up wayyyy to easy last episode and didn’t make an appearance at all this time. How has Vision not made it back yet? I was hoping to see at least one fight scene, but na. I guess that leaves all the action for next week’s finale 🤞. I don’t see how Agatha is relevant going forward. Like, getting her kids back at this point should be easy work for Wanda. For next week I think there will only be enough time for the imminent fight scene bw Wanda + old Vision, but I don’t think he can handle her, which means SWORD is gonna have to pull out the big guns which I believe will end up being the cameo they’ve been teasing. What a stark 😏 contrast between episode 7&8. Oh well. I’m sure the finale will be better 🤞♾

⚠️E7 SPOILERS⚠️ Thoughts 🤨:

Is it okay if my favorite character of the show is the unexpected villain? Although I'm not feeling the fact she killed Sparky. Do you think they'll keep going with the TV-themes? I don't think there's a show from the 2010s that's iconic enough to parody like the way they did Modern Family and The Office this time, so I think now we're just gonna get straight up action and actual fight scenes. I think Agatha is the one keeping Vision away so she can finally 'kidnap' Wanda and avoid fighting him, and I'm pretty sure she has the kids tied up somewhere too.

The real question who is actually the one suppressing people's awarenesses? I really don't think Wanda knows that people are being mind-controlled. Also, does Agnes fully understand what's going on? When she calls Vision an Avenger and he asks what that is, she doesn't understand how he doesn't know. So at this point, I can't really tell who's more in control. My best guess is that Agatha is controlling Wanda's *subconscious* and THAT is controlling everyone else. Only those with super powers know that they're playing characters on TV, which is why Vision's coworkers are completely oblivious.

And I'm gonna throw another theory out there, one that I haven't heard/read: HERB might also have super powers. Last episode Wanda is looking for Vision and although Herb doesn't know where Vision is, he asks if HE can change anything for her... As if he’s some kind of “producer” for WandaVision. Also previously he’s shown he’s aware they are TRAPPED, which no other character seems to realize.

Lastly, that dark turn to horror for the reveal of Agatha Harkness--😳😳😳🤯--is the main signal to me that they're done with the sitcom theme, and I'm okay with that, cuz I can't see them topping this episode. A+ ♾

Episode 6 Thoughts:

•Okay. WHOA 😳

•Again, peep the opening credits on this episode. It’s clearly taking inspiration from “Malcolm in the Middle,” an early 2000s sitcom without a laugh track and a lot of ‘fourth wall’ breaking for narration. Brilliantly done.

•So last episode—Vision asks Wanda why there’s no kids in Westview, and what does she do for this episode? HALLOWEEN! 🎃

⚠️ SPOILERS BELOW ⚠️

•At this point, ‘the hex’ reminds me of when I was a [very young] kid and I thought there were people living inside the television living out their lives. Don’t tell me you didn’t think that too lol. Well Wanda has pretty much created my childhood-delusion in Westview, and is writing and directing the show. When the actors are ‘off-camera’ they’re somewhere frozen and/or unconscious. The episode ends with her expanding this TV-hex-agon in order to save Vision’s life, but that ends up sucking a LOT more people into her hex. Good luck to them ✌️

•BIG THEORY HERE: Wanda is not doing this on her own! Someone ELSE sent Pietro into Westview! Wanda had no idea that would happen or even how any of this started. Granted, she’s keeping it going, but I believe someone else caused it. I don’t know enough Marvel characters to theorize who that might be but we’ll see soon. (My theory, Hayward sent him in)

•Still tryna figure out how characters are able to go off-script exactly...

•Lastly: Hayward is hiding A LOT of useful information. It’s obvious he’s not a good guy BUT could he be a SUPER-villain? 👀 •

Episode 5 Thoughts, Part 2:

•Why ARE there no other children in Westview? They kinda hint at the fact she can’t control kids, since she literally can’t control her own. So what did she do with these ppls kids!? 😧

•That’s some textbook gaslighting when Wanda gets confronted by Vision.

•Do yourself a favor and go back and listen VERY carefully to the opening credits on this one, They’re a bit cryptic and maybe telling us something. You decide. Actually now I’m gonna go back and listening to all episodes opening credits.

•Why did the hex turn red when she reentered? Did she change something? Why’d she kill Sparky?! 😡

•When they’re looking for Sparky, the mailman tells the boys not to worry bc, “your mom won’t let him get far.” Again, this tells me two things, Wanda is scripting this reality and again, EVERYONE KNOWS!

•We’re good without Wanda forcing the accent right?😐

•

Anyway, I’m about to watch E6. Can’t wait to see what will be different now that they attacked Wanda 😳 ♾

Episode 5 Thoughts, Part 1 📺 The opening credits 🙌 Took me back lol. We’re moving right along to an 80s-era sitcom. They NAILED it. Perfect blend of throwback sitcom vs. real Marvel universe content. Every scene was gripping. Except, THAT wasn’t the big cameo we’re waiting for, right? Anyway, it’s a good thing they didn’t release all episodes at once cuz there is so much to unpack. •

SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️ I think the main thing we’re seeing is Wanda is losing control of herself and Vision is noticing. I still believe she’s not controlling the town’s every action but that everyone is just playing along. Like how Agatha asks if Wanda wants to do another ‘take’. She knows what’s going on!!! The one that is (...was) somewhat clueless is Vision. Also, how did her brother appear at her front door without her knowing, if she’s in control? How did a drone enter the “hex” without her knowledge? •

Also, Hayward’s a...terrorist? They allude to this in the episode when discussing if *Wanda* is a terrorist, but I think we can all see she’s evil. What isn’t [necessarily] obvious yet is Hayward’s intentions. A lot of his actions are questionable 🤨. Like the missile drone 🤨. •

Did you notice when Vision tells Wanda she can’t control him like the others, and she replies, “Can’t I?” I think to a degree, she can, but that’s not what’s going on. •

ALSO! Her kids tell her to bring the dog back to life, cuz she can, giving more credibility to the FACT that she indeed brought Vision back to life, and that he’s not some corpse that she’s controlling like a doll. I’m gonna share the rest of my thoughts in another post after rewatching E5, there’s just so much in this episode. I’m predicting several #Emmy nods for this episode alone. Great work 🙌♾

Opinion: Is it obvious yet to anyone else that: 1. Everyone in Westview is aware of what's going on; 2. They are horrified; 3. So therefore they are all playing along?? •

⚠️ SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️ •

In E3 the doctor was trying to go on 'vacation' with his wife (i.e. ESCAPE)--which is something he only told Vision and not Wanda. I think that if Wanda finds out you're not playing by her rules, you'll face her wrath, like Geraldine a.k.a. Monica Rambeaux. Like, what happened to the beekeeper guy that came out of the sewer in E2? Something horrible, most definitely. Did you see Vision's facial expression at the end? Even HE is terrified, and is reluctantly playing along. Anyway, more on that in the mid-season review.

In WandaVision episode 4, we're getting that big reveal episode where shows tend to pull back multiple layers or reveal a twist we might have been waiting for. This episode feels more like the beginning of an MCU movie than an episode of WandaVision, and I think the rest of the season will be a hybrid of the two, with more outsiders infiltrating Westview. More on that soon also. This episode was easily the best yet ♾

Anyone else forget that Scarlet Witch had a twin😬? QUICK REVIEW—SPOILER FREE: This episode was MUCH better than the first two! They’re sticking with the Nick at Nite theme, this week going with a 70s-era vibe without it taking over the whole show. There is a good mix of suspense and satire throughout, and it’s not just a goofy sitcom this time. Wanda’s starting to show her desire to stay buried in this fictional reality of hers, and it’s seeming like she might be more in control of what’s happening than I thought. This episode set up A LOT of interesting stuff that I wished they had done just a bit of in the premiere, but I’ll just pretend those episodes never happened...like Wanda when she wants to forget something terrible 😃. There’s so much more to talk about in this episode, but that belongs in a blog post (or vlog 🤔 hmm). For now, I’m really happy this show turned it around and is looking REALLY good. I hope you enjoy/ed it. ♾

So far, it’s a show about a fake TV show but actually there is no real tv show yet—we actually are just watching ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ with a teaser at the end of each episode. The only thing holding this show together is the fact the MCU movies have been killing it and based on the success of ‘The Mandalorian’ we’re expecting this #DisneyPlus -episodic format to be great. Coming into this I thought her alternate reality would be a small part of the show, not the show itself. But they really have us watching some black-and-white, 4:3 aspect ratio, 1950s-style hijinx narrative, that is not remotely entertaining.

New episodes are released on Fridays, and yes, I’ll be watching, hoping some sh!t goes down eventually. Episode 3 thoughts coming Friday night ♾•

See It...when you get around to it 😕

Cameos. Fan Service. Oddly placed dance scenes. Nepotism-casting. A flimsy and rushed love story. DATE RAPE. We're lucky right now that a lot of box office movies are available to watch safely at home. I say 'lucky' because I'm glad I didn't spend money on this. Eddie Murphy (as Akeem) and Wesley Snipes were the best parts of this movie, but unfortunately, they weren't the main characters. They brought back almost every single character from the original but unfortunately it didn't bring back any of the charm and humor. Great production quality, set design and costume design was on point. I think Eddie Murphy is soooo naturally funny and talented so it hurts me bad to say, but this really felt a bit cash-grabby.
