Just heard Diary of Jane in the first time in what feels like decades LOL
Was a good song while it lasted..... #2026
I mean it when I say you will never expect the sound this video makes holy shit
This vid was well written. Very interesting british perspective on dubstep that i learned a lot from as someone from the US. I got into dubstep around 2011, also in my earlier formative yrs, and introduced to "brostep" that i genuinely loved, including Skrillex h a h a.
And i’ve found that almost everything is made of cardboard
And there’s absolutely nothing I can’t sing with weird chords
Heard an Die Antwoord song i havent heard in literally 10+ yrs. Still slaps
I should get back into hardstyle 《》 Havent heard this in yrs and it still goed so hard. Even better on my car speakers ! ! ! !
daddy wants to see yall on yall baddest behavior. lend me some sugar. I AM your neighbor.
I genuinely cannot tell if this is supposed to be a horny post or House of Leaves inspo. Great job, op.
secret third option actually. now, don't have me break this thing down for nothing
So fucking aggrivating that the like button is exactly where the previous button is on the android's "live" play tab.
Just accidentally unliked ANOTHER song trying to go back. That one was in a 2023 "area" of my likes. So now its been shot to the top where my 2025-2026 songs are ToT. So jarring.
I have got to stop stalling on buying this ipod. Or fixing mine!! U g h . . .
Pleasantly suprised to enjoy both the original and the vaporwave version.
from Spirit of the Now Age, out now on Palm '84
I heard the vaporwave version first. Absolutely ethereal vibes. I love how u cant quite make out what the singer is saying. And then the saxophone and that almost air jet takeoff noise. Just awesome mixing all around to create a completely different vibe than the original thats more atmospheric and dreamy.
The original is great too. The lyrics are fun and the key signature is just so jazzy. Makes u wanna get up and swing.
Not as seekers of echoes,
but as makers of sound,
who stood when
the pillars of the world
came down!
Storm of a Thousand Suns!!!
I really wanted to like this song but I just had to remove it from my likes cuz i just cannot vibe w that flapping noise.
The song has such great buildup and rhythms but then that flapping after the drop just ruins it. It gives me a rlly sick feeling like someone has their finger in their mouth and is swirling it violently, or something fleshy and wet is flailing about. Its unsettling for such crisp rhythms and musical style. I hate it.
And the name of the song doesnt rlly help either. Im not getting a 'rattlesnake' vibe at all from the sound design choices. Veey wet and bubbly sounds invoke a bathroom setting moreso than sand or snakes. Maybe it just goes along w the artist's seemingly western cowboy theme. Idk but it doesnt work for me.
Sucks cuz most of the song is awesome. The beginning had me hooked almost instantly. After the flapping crap Im vibing.
Too bad. I wish i had some music editing tech to 'dry out' and sharpen those flapping noises lol. I notice more songs have that noise in it and its awful lol.
Im listening to it again and its not as "flappy" as i remember. Its very watery tho, which is hallmark for cplorbass it seems (or whatever genre this is).
Perhaps when i heard it i was already feeling an ick from something else anxjsjskdnms. Imma give this a few more listens cuz i rlly want to vibe w this. Im re-listening and its growing on me more.
Im still not vibing w the sound tho. Just less 'flappy' now that im listening again

Idk if its just most selection on SC are just ass or if I just do not like tearout as a genre.
Im inclined to believe the latter since SC is usually a goldmine of songs for genres I like. And I like dubstep.
Tearout and Riddim have always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I get why people like it; I see the appeal. But I like music that takes me somewhere. I’ve always been more into the kind of stuff that Au5 makes and Teminite’s more melodic stuff. If you’re into heavier music that still retains a coherent melody and tonality I highly recommend checking out Exyl and, if you’re into old school stuff, Skrux.
Right, I see the appeal. I even love the name of the genre! Seems right up my alley bc i love dubstep that can be aggressive and intense. But with tearout I just feel so .... bored. Like you said, I dont feel like Im moved in anyway. Its just aggrivating LMFAO dubstep shouldnt aggrivate me bc i love it!
Anyway, I dont want to abandon the genre quite yet so Ill check those out! Thx for the recs.
Im even still learning all the names of the different subgenres of dubstep. I tend to listen to the same songs i find on repeat for years so i have a lot to find and delve into!
You tagged thia as melodic dubstep. I havent quite figured out what that genre entails quite yet, though I heard artists like Chime could qualify as melodic dustep producers. Do you have any good recs for that subgenre?
