He nearly jumped out of his skin when Hoshi crept up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Baekhyun was a stealthy creature by genetics but that didn’t stop him from getting scared when the tables were turned on him.
He laughed awkwardly to show he wasn’t too fazed by Hoshi getting the jump on him and settled for a grin that might have looked painful. “It goes with my dazzling personality.” He joked but blurted the first thing that came to mind. “Huh, knew you were cute then, still are.”
Foot meet mouth. Baekhyun was normally smooth when it came to flirting. (At least he thought so, never mind what Hwasa and Hyuna thought of his skills) And he only ever blabbered when he was nervous. Which was what he was now. Quite nervous.
It was one thing to share hilarious cat videos with the guy, whom Baekhyun actually treated like a friend, it was another thing entirely to meet him.
“So….” He rocked a bit in his chair. “Hi. Hoshi. Hoshi Hi.” He stammered, feeling his cheeks get red as his hair. Oh shit. Shit. “How you’ve been? Sold any melons lately?” SHIT. SHHHHHHIIIIT.

Hoshi smiled from ear to ear at Baekhyun’s adorable reaction to him. He was normally the shy one of the two, even behind a computer screen, but seeing him all cute and caught off guard made the younger feel even more comfortable around him. He rolled his eyes at Baek’s prideful quip and sat in the seat in front of him. “Yes, you are nothing but sparkly,” he giggled sarcastically and shaking his head playfully, “Still just as much of sweet talker as before too. Do you still have girls following around like you used to brag about?” Since the blonde had the upper hand for the first time EVER in one of their conversations, he thought he’d finally tease him back for once. Hoshi was always shy and not exactly social; he always saw Baekhyun as his better half who was more optimistic and confident which made Hoshi look up to him a lot. Still watching his best friends stumble over his words so much made his cheeks flush red too. He hid his face in his hands as he chuckled at his redhead friend’s strained question. “No.. Not yet at least. I actually still have old melon seeds from the farm grandma sent with me,” Hoshi chuckled, fiddling with one of the napkins just laying on the table, leaning in closer to him. “So~ did you just call me over just to stare me Baek? Should I buy us something?” Hoshi asked, his smiling half-crescent shaped eyes looking around for an employee to call over.
“Sparkly?” Baekhyun repeated, feeling a teeny bit suspicious at such a word to describe him, but he took into stride. Sparkly seemed like a compliment, and Hoshi was never a guy with guile. “ That’s me, Sparkly Bacon.” He grinned only to scoff at Hoshi’s comments about the girls. God, he was such a dork.
“Oh, I let them take a day off. We’d need elbow room away from them,” He waggled his eyebrows and flapped his arms and elbows, looking even more ridiculous.
When Hoshi blushed as red as he did, surprisingly that made Baekhyun relax a bit more. If both of them were stumbling around each other like idiots then it couldn’t be too bad, could it? They were friends and they joked about a lot of stuff even amidst flirting so it should be okay? RIght?
That was until Hoshi leaned over so that their noses were almost touching. Baekhyun sat still enough so his eyes widened considerably. A beat, before he flashed what he hoped was a dashing smile.
“Well I could stare at you all day Hoshi,” He winked and dared to tap his finger against Hoshi’s cheek before pulling away. “I am kinda hungry…” He pouted thoughtfully. “I’ve stocked up on all the coffee this place has to offer though, but I wouldn’t mind buying you anything…” He squinted at the over-eager waiter as he approached.
Hoshi laughed, loving Baekhyun's responses to him. He was just as much of a nerd as he rememebered. "Right~~ Elbow room, of course," Hoshi responded sarcastically as played with the spare napkins on the table.
The young, light-haired boy could almost swear he heard both of their hearts pounding when he leaned in towards him that made his breathing hitch. It was how different the two of them were acting around each other in person, despite talking for such a long while. A small smile creeped up on Hoshi's face once Baekhyun poked his face and hurridely looked away, motioning for a waiter to come.
Running his hands through his hair, Hoshi looked up kindly at the waiter, ordering green tea and banana bread for himself and allowing Baekhyun to order whatever he wanted from here as well. It was the least he could do for his only friend. Once the guy finished taking his order, Hoshi finally leaned back in his seat and finally started to fold one of the napkins he was just haphazardly spinning around. "So Baek," Hoshi started in order to break the silence that was trying to form around them, "What are your plans here for Mt. Phoenix? As far as living here? Are you here on a top secret mission or just here to live comfortably?"
