"There is an impulse in moments like this to appeal to self-interest. To say: These horrors you are allowing to happen, they will come to your doorstep one day; to repeat the famous phrase about who they came for first and who they'll come for next. But this appeal cannot, in matter of fact, work. If the people well served by a system that condones such butchery ever truly believed the same butchery could one day be inflicted on them, they'd tear the system down tomorrow. And anyway, by the time such a thing happens, the rest of us will already be dead.
"No, there is no terrible thing coming for you in some distant future, but know that a terrible thing is happening to you now. You are being asked to kill off a part of you that would otherwise scream in opposition to injustice. You are being asked to dismantle the machinery of a functioning conscience. Who cares if diplomatic expediency prefers you shrug away the sight of dismembered children? Who cares if great distance from the bloodstained middle allows obliviousness. Forget pity, forget even the dead if you must, but at least fight against the theft of your soul."

please think of the disabled people of gaza. please think of the diabetic people of gaza. please think of the neurodivergent people of gaza. please think of those whose lives are relying on medicine that has either stopped coming in due to the blockade, or is available in such scarcity that its price has skyrocketed.
we're approaching winter. on top of the challenge of securing waterproof tents and sufficiently warm clothing, some diabetic people in gaza have stopped taking their insulin as they can no longer afford it. those who are able to acquire it for now know every shot may be their last.
HRT bans, criminalization of "indecent" cross-dressing, and bathroom bans were already in place in most red states, even with a blue president. workplace discrimination based on gender presentation is basically already legal there too.
as someone who recently flew to her hometown and found out she couldn't legally use the correct bathroom for herself it feels very very strange to see a bunch of people suddenly outpouring concern for the red states. it was basically already apocalyptic
a while back i predicted that a Trump presidency would shock liberals into realizing what was already happening under Biden and let me tell you, it sucks a bit being Cassandra here
Now that I have your attention, I am calling all my followers and anyone else who comes across this post to spare at least 10 euros to support Nader and his family in Gaza.
Match my donation of €10 and share proof if you want in the notes.

This campaign is vetted (#4 on the list)!
€31,960 has been raised as of the time I post this, it's getting closer to the goal than before!
You have a fundamental moral obligation to donate a sum totaling 10$ to the following 3 fundraisers, all of which belong to people who have lost loved ones and in some cases their entire families due to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' actions.
Hossam Bardaweel -> entire direct family members dead.
Hazem Mohammed Al-Bardaweel -> entire direct family members dead.
Nemr Matar -> infant died.
These are people whose situations you will never understand. Have some basic decency and respect and don't make this about yourself or your guilt or anything about you. Don't even say you donated. This is about the people who will continue to lose everything as long as American empire persists. Any comments will be deleted.
if you were to marry, what do you think you would look forward to the most?
kissing them forever
unionizing their workplace
keeping pets and possibly a terrarium
travelling together
celebrate the other achieve their dreams
adopting children
hanging out with your friends and family together
building a home together (maybe from the ground up)
waking up to the sound of children

when we dream of loving we dream of it big, we dream of it being something that shows how big it is that thing that lived inside of us, Nour Alanqar, @nooranqar1 , has been trying to provide for a big family through constant displacement and soaring prices, escalating violence and the loud circus of liberals in the last few weeks to top it.
in two days there are no donations to her campaign and her neccesities go unanswered as everyone asks them to give what's left!
through every step of life it is not only the best and the most what we can do, it is the only thing left to do, and palestinians are still trying to do so, they don't give up when the world does, but we are the world so we can help them, please share and donate to her campaign, as soon as you see this, and read her story, talk to her if you can.

remember that even if we get them to a high percentage we must strive for more because we cannot predict the consequences of the violence they experience, we must prepare for more always.
"(fe)male socialisation" are bioessentialist terms that were coined by TERFs with the express purpose of excluding trans women from feminity by positing the false idea that "trans women will never know what it's like to be women" because "they were assigned and raised as male". By using this terminology you are evoking this context.
I think it's interesting (sarcasm) that it is not trans women spearheading this movement to reclaim these terms, but transmascs. Who notably were not the target of the exclusion outlined in the terminology in the first place. I wonder if this might say something.
Regardless, to posit that there is some unique shared "female experience" that every person cafab experiences growing up is bioessentialist no matter how you slice it or try and redefine it to be #progressive and #transinclusive. It's the bioessentialist illusion of "sisterhood" that is one of many strategies that TERFs use to lure people in to their ideology.
If your gut reaction is to say, "but these terms are really useful for describing how I grew up", I think you might want to rethink things. You can talk about being raised under the false belief that you were a woman and the misogyny and transphobia you experienced as a result without being bioessentialist about it. This is not "female socialisation", this is "I was raised with the expectation to conform to the idea of womanhood but performed both womanhood and manhood incorrectly, and was punished accordingly". Consequently I am sure you can see how this actually is an experience that aligns you with transfems and not one that separates and others you from them on the basis of your biology, as transfems are also punished for performing both womanhood and manhood incorrectly.
I am by no means an expert but it seems to me “your body does not belong to you” is a major theme of right wing authoritarianism and, interestingly, modern USAmerican thinking. This underpins so much from abortion to forcing kids to hug their relatives. Your body belongs to the state, or God, or your husband, or your boss, or your doctor. Everything from trans and gay liberation to forcing autistic people to look in your eyes to making cashiers stand for no reason. Your body does not belong to you, but taking care of your body is your responsibility and your responsibility alone, and if you fail in some way, you deserve the consequences.
like. maybe y'all should put a little less money towards a 16 year old website that hosts literal child pornography a lot of which concerns actual legitimate human children and put a little more money towards people in need. but that's just my onion 😌
anyways, i (a disabled/medically complex person) am trying to keep my housing, muhammed & his family (one of whom is a young child with down syndrome) are trying to survive the genocide in gaza, and i am trying to help one of my best friends (marley, who is dealing with severe medical issues very similar to my own) get a wheelchair so that she can ACTUALLY live her life.
all of which is, objectively, much more important than a shitty and terribly run fanfiction website. but yeah i mean ig it's up to y'all to see where your priorities lie 🫶🏽

Let me tell you a little about Multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an autoimmune disease, which means that the immune system starts attacking some part of the body. In the case of MS, the immune system attacks the central nervous system. If you didn't know, the central nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord, and as you can imagine, damage to that can have disastrous effects on your ability to function. Damage often happens in "attacks", and symptoms tend to get worse over time. The symptoms that damaging the central nervous system can result in are so numerous that it has its own wikipedia page (Signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis), but to list a few that may occur: fatigue, difficulty walking, incontinence, blurred vision, cognitive impairment, depression, speech problems, hearing loss, tremors, and pain.
MS cannot be cured, but there are treatments that can prevent it from getting progressively worse, and reduce relapse rate. This is incredible news, except these treatments can be prohibitively expensive...
Now, I want you to imagine having to deal with something like MS while living in Gaza, and all that entails, for over a year now.
I want to tell you a little about Hala Daoud. Hala is in her 40s and has three children: 17 y/o Osama, 13 y/o Lana, and 9 y/o Mohammed. They are living in Gaza, with all that entails, and Hala has MS.
I'm sure you know, but the healthcare system in Gaza is all but destroyed. The only chance Hala has to get his treatment is to travel to Egypt, and then pay for the medicine all on her own. The medicine costs $12,000 for a single dose, and getting through the border is not cheap either. If she cannot do this, her health will continue to deteriorate and she will be left permanently disabled.
Her fudraiser was created all the way back in May, but she has only raised €2,274 out of her €17,000 goal
In the last ten days she has only had four donations. Please, do not let her be forgotten💔
