nothing like being in class to kickstart my writing motivation

a message to struggling writers out there: write on your phone. leave your computer on your desk. don’t set up anything. lay down. get a bowl of cereal. take out your contacts. listen to music in the background. type away at your phone as the loose, casual act creates a world where the pressure and uptightness usually tied to writing, dissapears. writing doesn’t and never had to be a professional act done on laptops perched on neat desks with organized notes next to it. so just write on your phone.

how do you plan your long fics? like read all about it, how do you go about outlining it. i don’t usually do long fics and this is my first one, i don’t wanna mess it up :(

I think everyone is a little different when it comes to outlining methods, so I can’t guarantee that my method will vibe with you, but of course I’m happy to share :) With long fics especially, I find it essential to first decide your beginning and end points. How do you want the story to start and how do you want it to conclude? Once you have that figured out, it becomes a bit easier to fill in the middle part -- how do these characters get from point A to point Z? What struggles and/or situations do they go through? How do they develop, grow, etc? It’s normal for an outline to go through many, many edits and changes, so come up with as many ideas as you want and then see what progression of events feels the most natural to you. There’s no right or wrong way to do it! So don’t worry about messing up :)

have you ever dealt with not being able to just do the things you want to (in this case writing) and u sit and scroll on ur phone doing nothing? if u have how did u get over it? or was it just a time thing

Oh this happens to me ALLLL THE TIIIIIIME, MY FRIEND. Usually it’s my brain’s way of telling me it’s either really tired or is lacking inspiration. Sometimes I feel like my mind is split into two parts -- my “creative” brain and my “worker” brain. There are times when my worker brain is totally honed in and ready to focus, but then my creative brain is completely empty and giving me nothing to write about. Other times my creative brain is all like yeah!! so many ideas!!! and my worker brain is like shut up i need a nap lol, which is how I end up scrolling on my phone to avoid actually getting the writing done. 

Sorry this isn’t helpful at all sdgfhfsj. If you feel like you need some inspo, reading/watching/listening to something usually helps me. But if you’re just feeling burnt out, you’ll get over it with time. Your brain might just need a break to recharge.
