Hi there, okay so usually I'm all about sharing full plates to my feed but you also know my extreme need for yolk action. This fried egg was so super yolky that I just had to grab a click. Hey hey, it's a burger and fries kinda day. I never use this fancy chip basket either, what a great day. Well you may have noticed that this crazy yummy double burger is featuring the baps from @lovebakerstreet did the flag give it away? I love the little flag. Anyways Baker Street is definitely my choice when it comes to buying bread. Not only do they stay super fresh for ages, the range from baps to waffles is pretty epic too. Hey hey, what can I say this is bloody delish. Fried rice with a thyme roasted shreaded chicken and homemade curry sauce. The idea of going to a take away is great, if you can afford to feed a family at those prices then dial away my friend, for me a cheap whole chicken, slowly roasted, infused cooked rice, then fried up and to finish a speedy sauce** That's 5 people fed and if your lucky you can all have a cream egg for dessert!! Winning. Most amazing speedy in a hurry curry sauce recipe. [double the recipe to make double the amount, sounds obvious, it is obvious]. 💐4 tsp cornflour 💐1 tsp curry powder 💐1/2 tsp Chinese Five Spice Mix 💐1/4 tsp Ground Ginger 💐1/4 tsp Garlic Powder 💐1 tbs Butter 💐2 tsp Soy Sauce 💐2 tsp Chili Sauce 💐240 ml Vegetable stock. 🎁 🌹Add the cornflour and all of the dry spices together in a small bowl 🌹Melt the spread or butter in a small saucepan, add the cornflour mixture and fry for a minute, stirring all the time until fragrant. 🌹Turn the heat down and slowly start to add the stock a few spoons at a time stirring all the time. Make sure it is mixed well before you add more. 🌹Continue until the stock is used then add the soy sauce, chili sauce and stir. 🌹Cook for a few minutes, stirring all the time, making sure to carefully scrape the sides and bottom of the pan. 🌹With a gentle simmer the sauce will rapidly thicken. If it thickens to much add a little water. Hi there, soooo my fried rice dish yesterday was filled with shredded chicken, this was the gloriously roasted chicken. Roasting chickens seem to be something I do alot, maybe it's because they are cheap and you can do so many recipes depending on which part or indeed the whole chicken you want to use. This is a standard butter based chicken with thyme, sage, rosemary, stuffed with garlic and a whole lemon then roasted on a bed of carrots, celery and onions... It was bloody lovely. . Happy Sunday all, hope your day is completly hangover free. Today has started of the most lazy way possible, that's what Sundays are for right. When I first started cooking it was about how many different things I could get on a plate, now it's about less is more. But a bigger taste per item. This is toad in the hole with new potatoes cooked in goosefat and thyme with minted peas sautéed in butter with shallots, a light onion gravy to finish. On my blog you can totally get the Yorkshire pud recipe and in order to create the mini toad in the holes you simply add halved chipolatas and bang its an extra meaty bite in the yorkies. Hiiiii today's topic is fish pie. This is actually the first time I've made fish pie. Wouldn't say its something I particularly enjoy but those that love fish pie seemed thrilled. Its actually unbelievably simple to make. So it you fancy giving it a go I've included the recipe at the end of this post before the generic hash tag joys. Its the weekend! What's going down in your town? I believe its a child free evening in the Scarlett household..... Hmmmm party times. Additional note. Anywhoooo if you have a recipe in a post and want to share on the website let me know 😊 The Recipe: 🔸1kg Maris Piper potatoes peeled and halved 🔸400ml milk 🔸25g butter 🔸25g plain flour 🔸4 spring onions finely sliced 🔸1 x pack fish pie mix (cod, salmon, smoked haddock etc, weight around 320g-400g depending on pack size) 🔸1 tsp Dijon or English mustard 🔸½ a 25g pack or a small bunch chives, finely snipped 🔸handful frozen sweetcorn 🔸handful frozen petits pois 🔸handful grated cheddar. Method: Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C /gas mark 6. 🔸Put 1kg potatoes, peeled and halved, in a saucepan and pour over enough water to cover them. Bring to the boil and then simmer until tender. 🔸When cooked, drain thoroughly and mash with a splash of milk and a knob of butter. Season with ground black pepper. 🔸Put 25g butter, 25g plain flour and 4 finely sliced spring onions in another pan and heat gently until the butter has melted, stirring regularly. Cook for 1 -2 mins. 🔸Gradually whisk in 400ml milk using a balloon whisk if you have one. Bring to the boil, stirring to avoid any lumps and sticking at the bottom of the pan. Cook for 3 – 4 minutes until thickened. 🔸Take off the heat and stir in 320g-400g mixed fish, 1 tsp Dijon or English mustard, a small bunch of finely snipped chives, handful of sweetcorn and handful of petits pois. Sooo potatoes.... Kinda random. Hey there you guys, so as being on the Internet doesn't provide me with a big house or fancy cars, I spend some time going to actual work.
