This is a very interesting post because I love learning cultures in different countries.  I was intrigued by the way they great people and how chewing gum in public is inappropriate.  I am a big gum chewer so I don’t think Germans would like me much,  I found it interesting that talking with your hands in your pocket is disrespectful in Germany.  I have always wanted to learn German and feel it is easier to understand than other languages.  

I enjoyed reading the section on German weddings.  I think it is pretty neat that guests bring old dishes and shatter them at the bride and groom’s feet for good luck.  It also seems like Germans celebrate funerals in the same way that Americans do.  I enjoyed reading about the German culture and hopefully one day I could visit.

I think Japan is a gorgeous country and would love to visit it one day.  I found it interesting that it has a low crime rate, which makes me want to visit there even more.  Someday I want to  go visit the USS Arizona to see the Pearl Harbor memorial, but I think it would be very interesting to go visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.  The way people worship in other countries really interests me, so I would love to visit the Buddhist Temple to see how the Japanese worship.  I have heard Mount Fuji is beautiful and it is on my bucket list to visit.  Japanese art and history is amazing and I would love to study it a little more.  This was a very well written post that was informative and would convince me to take a vacation to Japan.  -Rachel Gardner (mrsgardner810)

I enjoy baking and cooking so I found this post to be very interesting.  I would love to travel to Germany to just try their cuisine.  You all did a great job with covering all aspects of the German cuisine,  I have tried many of this dishes, like Bratwurst sausage and sauerkraut which I think is disgusting.  If Germans eat this type cuisine all the time, I feel like their obesity rate is probably through the roof.  I am not a big beer drinker but I knew that were a few German beers that became popular there and have made their way to the United States.  The fact that gummy bears were invented by a German is so awesome.  I have a big sweet tooth and I would enjoy eating their cuisine. -Rachel Gardner (mrsgardner810)

Going Low Carb!!!

So I have come to the conclusion that my hubby and I NEED to lose weight and get healthier. We are cutting out carbs and sugar!!! We cleaned out our refrigerator and threw out 5 bags of trash and sent 5 grocery bags of processed foods to my mom. Our fridge is stuffed full of meats, cheeses, eggs, and green leafy lettuce and spinach. It's been kind of tough, but I know we can do it!! I've been tracking my food so I can keep up with carbs, protein, fat, and protein. I know we can stick with this and lose this weight!! It's so much fun finding new, low carb recipes!!
