New Soulmate AU just dropped!?

Saw a clip recently of the lead actors for a Chinese drama called Blossoms of Power where, basically, at a promotional event her dress accidentally gets caught on his belt. It's all rather funny-if slightly embarrassing-but both actors just laughed it off while crew and another cast mate came to assist in getting them unstuck.

In the middle of watching this clip however, I had like this big brain-mind exploding meme moment and I thought "huh...that would make for a great soulmate au". So now, walk with me here; instead of soulmate identifying marks or the 'red string of fate' (or the goose lmao), characters find out they're soulmates through awkward wardrobe malfunctions. Don't really know the specifics. Like, do threads just magically not get stuck on things, unless it's to identify soulmates through getting their clothes caught on eachother? Or do these things still happen normally, on top of the soulmate stuff, so there's confusion and your OTP has plausible deniability? A mix of both, perhaps? Depending on what suits your fic? I'll let you decide...

Either way, I think there's massive potential here and I may just have to give writing my own fanfic a crack just for the sole purpose of promoting this idea.

idk i would personally rather give up access to certain products seasonally or locally than have people enslaved to give me the ability to have any product any place any time. i think i can go without tomatoes in january.

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
