I understand why some people who are newer to this struggle are like WHYYY would the government do this to us but also it's like. Babes. They hate us. They hate the poor, they hate the disabled, they hate people of color, like. They dead see us as drains on Wealthy, Healthy White People, and you cannot reason with eugenicists. also ngl it's just crazy to me the amount of people i know who would go to protests and chant "whose streets? our streets" but clearly without actually internalizing that political message, considering they don't dedicatedly form relationships with and fight for unhoused ppl

if it's "our" streets it FIRST AND FOREMOST belongs to the (disproportionately Black and indigenous) ppl LIVING in the street. and a crucial part of the larger struggle for land rematriation rn IS fighting for the liberation and freedom of people who know these streets more intimately than anyone else

They're going to start passing this kind of legislation in amerikan cities one by one. We need to invest in broad political messaging that exposes this publicly for what it is - an attempt to choke "undesirable" populations from public life completely; that is to say, genocidal policy.

Let's be clear: the end result of all this is a total incarceration (whether psychiatric or judicial) of all poor people, most Black and brown people who haven't economically invested themselves in white supremacy, trans people, disabled people, undocumented people, and so forth.

If you fall into any of these categories, you are not exempt from your future incarceration. This is our reality. You cannot afford to be silent, and you cannot afford to materially invest your time and energy in the rapidly deteriorating fantasy of a "normal life".

All we have, at the end of the day, is the streets.
