Someone in the writers room in Marvel needs so many hugs and a shoulder to cry on if they think what was done to Bucky and Yelena was their fault as brainwashed and tortured people. Even Yelena had less agency/autonomy then Natasha thanks to the Red Dust.

Ghost was a victim who was under extreme physical duress to try and get help. So ok, maybe probation cause lets have a soul people. And John Walker? Has no business serving on a team as the actual true criminal there as well as someone who is clearly aggressive. Who cares if he was helpful at the end of FATWS, that was not redemption.

I need to see more of Alexi's backstory in the MCU (mind control elements aren't completely eliminated in my head canon) but he seems like a soldier willing to serve. It'll be interesting how they do.

Antonia is also a victim in my mind, groomed and programmed. None of these people, aside from Walker and maybe Alexi, in my opinion need redemption. Show us them struggling to cope what was done to them and through them and show the audience how to forgive yourself some.

Not many people talk about how deep emotional neglect hurts you.

I’m afraid to want things. I’m afraid to ask for help. I’m afraid to tell someone something if they seem in a bad mood. I can’t process when someone is nice to me. I can’t handle rejection, but my brain literally short circuits if someone gives me a compliment to the point where sometimes the rejection is better.

There are lots of overlap with emotional abuse, but emotional neglect hurts just as much. And it’s even worse that it usually goes undetected, so a lot of people can’t tell they’re being neglected until it’s too late.
