I’m still immensely in love with how this rebinding turned out! Good thing because I have to make another one, and this one will fly all the way to Australia! ✈️✈️✈️
I saw this binding method on Susana Dominguez Martin’s Instagram page on Sunday and my mind was so blown that I had to figure it out and try it myself.
This is genius for thick books 🙌🏻
This is pretty fascinating; I imagine you'd need some kind of space for the spine. I wonder how this would stand up in the long run and how easy it would be to replace the spine, if need be.
The spine is glued inside one of the covers, but it could easily be removed and replaced!

I saw you liked the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's a fictional memoir abt the 1st woman president in the 1945 and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend (ala Evelyn Hugo). It also includes a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!
I've never heard of it but that plot sounds really good, so I'm definitely adding it to my TBR! Thanks :)
PS : I went to see if I could find it on French websites and saw this amazon review! I'm choosing to believe they're talking about you haha
🎥 The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
I wasn’t expecting my first rebind to be this one, but as soon as I finished reading this story, I knew it deserved more than a flimsy cover.
I went for green, of course. If you’ve read the story, you know why (and if you haven’t, you should definitely read it 🙏🏼)
One of my biggest disappointment while reading was the typeset. The story contains a LOT of newspaper and tabloid articles but they were poorly designed. So I made a mission out of it 🫡
I have enough book cloth to bind a few more, so if you’re interested, shoot me a DM 😊

Happy Pills, by @malf0y101 (and this one is for them!)
“In a kind of slow motion, Draco turned his head to observe the Healer. Her deep green robes swam into sight. Her mouth was set in a straight line, but her dark eyes were warmed by concern. She was beautiful. The light behind her glowed into a blinding halo. He thought he heard the sound of hymns. “How are you feeling?” she asked. “Positively top-hole,” said Draco. “Are you an angel?” The Angel-Healer did her utmost not to laugh – which was an angelic sort of thing to do, and only further proved her secret identity. “You can trust me,” said Draco. He attempted to tap his nose but poked himself in the eye instead. “I’ll keep your secret.” The Angel-Healer did not respond; she was reading a chart. “I had an operation?” asked Draco. “We’ll talk about it later. When you’ve slept this off a bit.” Something about her authoritativeness was terribly familiar. “I know who you are,” gasped Draco. “That’s good.” “You’re Hermione Granger.”” - Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love, Chapter 19: The Nundu/Trying Times for Draco Malfoy, by @isthisselfcare

Dramione, 8th year. He is teaching her Occlumency in the Forbidden Forest, under an enchanted wisteria, protected from the winter chill by a warming charm. This is a scene from @mrsyoflam’s WIP story, that I did as part of a trade with her! And let me tell you that there is an Inception level of collaboration in this project: I (a fanartist) am illustrating a scene from Mrsyoflam’s (a fic writer) WIP, Mrsyoflam who is also - hold on to your hats - an amazing fic binder, and is providing in exchange for said illustration a handbound copy of Remain Nameless by @heyjude19-writing illustrated with - wait for it, just wait for it (Barney Stinson voice) - my fanarts! Gotta love this fandom :’)

Mortifying Ordeal Typesets
Hi,
I have received a few notes about typesets of Mortifying being sold on Etsy, which I report as they crop up, often to little effect. Please don’t pay for typesets of my -- or, indeed, of any -- fanfic.
Some lovely people have made Mortifying Ordeal typesets available for free. Thank you very much to these creators for sharing their beautiful work:
Typeset by Jackie (2 volumes)
Typeset by mrsyoflam (1 volume)
Typeset by ladybobbit (1 volume)
Typeset by TwinSuns (1 volume)
If you know of others, send me a message so I can add them here.
Please keep fandom free!
I will be away until May at which point I hope to catch up with notes xx
OFFICIAL Happy Pills Book Binding Policy:
I’m incredibly excited to share with you all that Happy Pills has been edited to the best of my ability, and I give full permission for people to bind my fanfiction barring the following rules:
Binding this fan fiction should be NOT FOR PROFIT. Paying for shipping costs and materials is the only exception. My work will not be kept behind a paywall of any kind.
Binding for personal use is encouraged—send me a million pictures of your copy, please please please. I want to join you in celebration.
Pretty straight forward. No need to ask for permission or anything — this is your permission. But please respect my wishes AND respect the culture of ethical bookbinding. I will find you and shame you if you don’t and uh oh that would be embarrassing for you !
if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for going on this journey with me, and happy reading.

MY BRAIN IS ON FIRE I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS I WON'T BE SLEEPING FOR THE NEXT MONTH OK BYEEEEEEE
“They streaked across the desert, meteoric. Draco wished for a shooting star, so that they might race it. Since Granger was doing so well, he gave the broom her head, and she spiritedly jetted forth even faster, and now the dunes were a silver radiance below, and the stars were a dazzling whirl. He held Granger tightly, partially to keep her safe, partially because he wanted to, because the feel of it was enjoyable – the holding of this slightly mad, brilliant witch, who passed her weekends skylarking about crypts, and who provoked him at every turn. She was warm between his arms, and she smelled like travel dust and adventure and exhilaration. The whole thing was mad – the holding of Granger as though he wanted to, the flying over these unsettled wilds, the having no actual clue where on Earth they were, the illegal and unfinished Portus, the talking skull, the whole of it. Absolutely mental. He had loved every minute.” - Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love, Chapter 15: Noli Me Tangere, by isthisselfcare

“Draco pulled the small jewelry box from his breast pocket and propped it open to reveal the ring inside, and though the creak of the hinges echoed loudly around the empty street, Hermione only had eyes for him. ‘If you’ll have me, there is nothing I desire more in this world than to call you my wife. Hermione Granger, will you marry me?’ A few tears tracked down her pink cheeks, but her smile stretched wide with unrestrained joy. She swept her gaze over his face, focusing in on different features in turn, as if she wanted to memorize the whole of him; a thrilling and flattering manifestation of her overly studious nature as Hermione took mental notes and categorized Draco as something important, something to be remembered and reflected upon later. It was an intense scrutiny done in love, and though she had yet to answer his life-altering question, Draco felt no reason to fear a rejection. Finally, she exhaled shakily but replied firmly. 'Yes, Draco. Yes, I’ll have you.” - Remain Nameless, chapter 47, by @heyjude19-writing
