BRIGHT BLUES LOOK THE HOBBITESS OVER ONCE MORE. The halfling's words nestled into his mind as he took a step forward, a chuckle leaving him at the statement of needing a bell. Was he really that quiet? Dwarrow usually were quite noisy, with heavy footing to give off that they were coming up. Perhaps it was the way he'd taken his steps and hadn't wanted to I interrupt the moment of privacy that Bilba was in. "...It is a constant wonder." He said, shifting to take a seat beside her "There is no telling what will come next. But we will need to be prepared." Thorin expanded a bit, his head turning to look at the woman a bit. Things were not always so smooth-sailing but he wanted to at least try and put her mind at ease, oddly enough. Just a year ago Thorin hadn't believed she would have made it this far and yet; here she stood.
A hand swept her side, brushing with it the layers of skirts that sat fleshed out against the log made bench to clear his way of seating. The bowl set aside to the edge of the fire allowing the hobbit to fold her hands to either side of her, resting against the bark of the wood. Nature always calmed, no matter the reasoning behind it. "How can we be prepared for something we do not know we face? We're not even prepared for what we are now aware we are facing." The orcs were formidable and seemed to never give up. They'd started as an unknown threat and even now remained a threat they held no candle to. What he posed seemed impossible, as this whole journey had seemed so far.
SHE HAD A GOOD QUESTION AND MADE A VERY INTERESTING POINT. How could they be prepared for something they would not know they faced? The answer to that would be simple: you just prepared. That went towards everything you did in life, as what his father had once told him. His head turned to look out at the fire, a low hum leaving the dwarf as he thought of his answer. "Simple," he said, after a few moments of silence "We may not know what it is, but at no matter the cost...you'll need to be ready." The brunette grumble, arms folding over his chest as he leaned back.
For what felt like simply forever wrapped up in but a moment of time, the hobbitess simply stared at the forgotten King with an expression of blank. He made it sound so.....simple. But this was anything but and they both knew it. Though, Bilba understood what he was doing. He had to appear level-headed and in control. Calm to the surface. If the company was going to stand together and continue to follow him. It was for the best for the rest of them. Though, the conviction in his tone made her pause in wonder if he truly believed it, or was holding onto that mask tighter. "Simple, indeed. I suppose we shall find out how true that turns out to be. Whether we like it or not."

Guys, His Majesty Thorin Oakenshield who's under dragon sickness and is ready to kill everyone for the Arkenstone, trusts Bilbo more than his own kin,to stand next to his Kingly throne!!! Basically the King's right-hand. Balin and Dwalin are fired...

The quiet words came from the newly arrived Ranger of the North, who had been asked by the Thain to check in on Bilba. Tracking the Company to Rivendell hadn't been difficult- Dwarves weren't inconspicuous at the best of times after all.

"As if he'd truly notice any new ones.~" The petite hobbitess rumbled with a proud laugh as she approached, a smile splitting across her features. Gently she untangled her fingers from the silken elven fabric - a new dress granted of their hosts who took far too much pleasure in the task. A bit...overdone for a under the hill dweller though far be it from the hobbit to disrespect the elves any more than the company had seemingly already had. "Besides, he tells himself how fetching they look when he gets a ladies attention." Green eyes danced with a curl of merry as she angled her head back enough to glance up at the Ranger before her. "How fare you this evening, Master Arathorn?"

"He did." Arathorn replied dryly, lone state eye filled with amusement. His presence in the Last Homely House wasn't just to check on the Hobbitess but also to spend time with-

A smile appeared at the call and the Ranger easily caught the young boy, despite Estel coming from his blind spot. "Greetings to you too, kiddo." He shifted the clinging youngster to his back and returned to talking with Bilba, one arm keeping Estel secure. "Unless the 'lady' in question is called Lobelia Sackville-Baggins. Then he would rather hide."
His smile was small but warm, although he did pull a face at the 'Master' part. "It's just Arathorn and I am well, thank-you. How are you faring away from home?"
"So he says.~" Green eyes naturally drifted to the tiny tot of a child that darted into view. A reverent bliss flickering the woman's features as the father played along, tangling the child up on his back as though nothing at all. She supposed it wasn't for him, a warrior trained to handle anything. The peering mirrored eyes over his broad shoulder her way earned a warmer smile from the hobbit, who raised her hand to curl an index finger in a wave the boys way. "When it comes to Lobelia - I feel that's a natural response to her. We all go running the opposite direction." On one too many occasions Bilba had done just that. Disappearing from when she'd come in order to simply avoid that devil woman. The thought of her, and home, churned the halfling's stomach for a moment. A longing breaching the surface. "I could say well....however, this has turned into far more an adventure than I first thought." Knowing eyes passed up towards the Father, giving a soft sigh that urged her shoulders lower. "I miss it. The Shire."

It's taken the dwarf some time but thankfully, he'd slowly opened himself ( or, at least began to ) for the hobbitess. Bright blues took in the halfling, head tilting a moment "Something is bothering you."
The deep thickness of the tone ringing out her name startled the hobbit from her train of thought. The bowl of stew currently settled at her skirt covered knees shook with the force of the jolt, sloshing mildly warm broth across the grass of their resting area, thankfully avoiding the clothing. "Someone ought to put a bell on you, Thorin." A hint of a self-bemused smile curled the edges of the halfling's lips, a preternatural occurrence in the presence of the dwarf. However, it were his notice that dimmed it's timid brightness to a calm serenity. "Merely wondering what still yet lies ahead of us. With all that's happened so far."
