Wellness Wednesday We all learn to adjust when we face the expected. However, just because you may be in a rhythm to, for example, exercise in the morning that doesn't mean that exercising in the evening has less value. Or maybe it's something as simple as always having the same backdrop. Switching it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a problem because you want to test new limits or options. Be kind to your own well being by allowing for flexibility. Do you find yourself too rigid in your plans? Relax and treat yourself to some understanding. This will make a huge difference in your own wellness. Monday Motivation We all have people, places, or goals that drive us. When you're really excited about those things you look forward to them. Maintaining that excitement is challenged at times. This is where balance truly comes in. My daughter was both excited and nervous for her first day of school. The excitement has waned a bit and she has begun to speak about Mondays with dread. I don't know where she picked up on this approach. Especially in this pandemic I treat Mondays like any other day. So I felt as though I needed to do a better job teaching her what I share with you all. Our perspective is critical and Albert Einstein is one of the greatest minds of our world. Never lose that perspective and balance. As he said: “Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving." Friday Fun Fun and games today! You can have fun at home and work and let the 2 intersect. Recently my kids were involved in the virtual iSpy game that went on with my co-workers. It's ONE easy step! You can pick any game that makes sense to you and add it to your home life and/or work day too. Whether you set aside 2 minutes for the game, 5 minutes, or 20 minutes you begin creating a new connection point or moment to bond with those around you even if they may grumble about it they will find it memorable. Monday Motivation There 3 things that help us keep going - particularly on Mondays. 1. Reviewing goals set for the prior month. 2. Creating checkpoints for success to achieve that goal and evaluating if they have been met. 3. Using the rest of the week to make adjustments based on whether or not the checkpoints have been met.
