I think people base how Caitlyn and Vi act with regard to their sexuality on the scene of them in the brothel too much. Ignoring the fact that Cait is nervous because she’s in an unfamiliar place (we see she’s pretty relaxed by the time Vi sees her again before leaving) and Vi is running off a fake it till you make it mentally to get the information she wants.

tbh i actually really love the fact that Caitlyn canonically copes with stress (and arguably self-harms) with sex. the fact that this aspect of her personality is so at odds with what so many people seem to want her to be instead makes me love it more. I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.

I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'

The best piece of writing advice I can give is that you should strive to be sincere rather than original.

You can't force originality. Originality will arise as a natural consequence of sincerity. Make the story completely and apologetically yours, and originality will come by virtue of it being your story.

She curls her fingers around Vi’s neck, and tries not to think about the way her hair should be tickling her skin as she presses forward. Their mouths are centimeters apart. Caitlyn should be able to feel the brush of Vi’s rapid, shallow breaths against her lips as she tilts her head down, their noses almost touching now. Vi sways forward, her eyelashes fluttering as a shaky exhale fills the air between them.
