"Oh, honey, there’s plenty of me to go around, although if you’re going to eat me…I suggest you start down there."
"...You're suggesting I start with your feet? Of all places, I can think of more interesting."

"Yes, I know. Who are you, exactly?"
"I shall merely say that I am a mutual acquaintance, for now."

River smirked at the look on the woman’s face. “Don’t worry, I don’t bite.”
"It's a shame that I do, really." A smirk of her own broke through the horror, before her hand hesitantly estimated the position of one of the other woman's hearts.
She didn’t remember what deemed her to lose consciousness. But whatever it was needed a stern talking to. When she started coming to she felt…warm. Like something had been pawing at her since she arrived and it would become very clear later that it was the console humming next to her.
The light lit up in her gaze as it opened, staring straight up to the ceiling…It took her a moment, squinting. This was an unfamiliar…theme… Was she deep inside…?
“Oh…my head.” she whispered, pressing a palm to her forehead.
As the woman came to consciousness before her, the Rani did little more than stare. It was a matter of waiting, in all honesty, and said waiting was done with a smirk of glee balancing over her lips, no attempt to hide her smugness being made. After all, in the entire field of universal science, how many women had ever come across their very own TARDIS in a physical form?
She had established that she was a Type-40. Faulty, most probably, but that was not an issue. The other questions circling her mind were suppressed, ready and waiting to obtain answers from the facination before her.

"Hello! I’m Eli, and what are you doing in my lab?"
"Oh, your lab. That's what it is. Sorry, I was having difficulty. It's all so basic."

❝—-I’m sorry?❞
There’s an obvious look of confusion on his face as he stares at her a moment, a strange feeling rising up inside. Familiar? No. He doesn’t know her. But she seems familiar with him somehow.
❝What do you mean?❞
His own expression is met by a grin. It's not total amusement, for a woman who claims to be 'immune to emotion' is not fond of proving otherwise, yet a echo of some sort of smirk balances on her face.
"I shall take that as meaning the former." No explanation, of course. She believes that to be enough.

"Th-Thank you?"
"My pleasure, I expect."
"You say that like you’re not human."
"Oh, wow. Clever you. I hadn't noticed."

"Nope. Not at all. But I am curious as to why you’re asking for a biological sample from me.”
"Well, my dear, you do underestimate your own credit. You're far too interesting to waste all at once, so a sample will have to do for now."

"Who are you? You clearly know a lot about me, so it’s only right I know things about you.”
"Hmm... Lania. Yes, I've used that before. You can call me Lania."

"Might as well"
Leaning forward with an outstretched hand, the Rani appears almost disgusted as she observes how best to feel for the woman's heartbeat.
[Hello there, sorry about being absent. I've had a family gathering, which went far better than I had expected! I've returned now though, with eight drafts and quite a few starters to catch up on for you lovely new followers! I have a proper theme and guidelines page now, which is always good, so if you wanna have a look, it's there. Finally, if any of you lovely people are up for plotting, my ask box is always open!]

"Who told you that I was perfect? Not that I’m really disagreeing, I’m just curious who goes around talking about it."
"An acquaintance of mine - I wouldn't stoop so low as to call her a friend - has been simply gushing about you for a while now. I'd love to see where the claims originate."

Obviously, he couldn’t answer her question. Ok, maybe he could but he couldn’t really talk back to her in the language she was talking. So, he just looked in curiosity at the woman carrying him. His body felt a bit warmer than it was when he was inside the chamber. Come to think of it, he didn’t know how he was there.
The child was of human form, surely. But from what little the Rani knew about other infants belonging to said species, he was not acting in a similar way. Any other would have wailed at being carried by a stranger, and it was drawn to her that he wasn't by the fact that she was impeccably relieved. Her gaze, intimidating as it probably was, also held a fascination which her eyes overly portrayed.

"I wouldn’t need to meddle if your experiments weren’t dangerous.”
""Earth’s not miserable. Full of pudding brains, maybe, but not miserable. You used to be awfully fond of its dinosaurs if I remember correctly, which makes sense. They’re incredible, but so are the rest of the planet’s inhabitants. Humanity in particular is wonderful thing. Unnecessarily cruel at times, sure, but they’re also full of hope. They have so much potential. What could be miserable about that?”
"No experiment is dangerous if it advances further into our understanding of the universe. You only perceive it as such because those silly emotions of yours get in the way."
"Those dinosaurs were fascinating. And remarkably willing to co-operate. Oh, you should have seen the response from that optic nerve. It was incredible. The planet's been overrun by that silly little species, now. They call my experiments cruel, yet I've seen so many periods in their history where they are perfectly willing to shoot at whatever comes their way with neither warning or understanding. I don't see potential in a planet like that at all. They're so far from your type that your interest in them alarms me."

"That’s likely. Come here."
"If I must."
