I find myself becoming more and more isolated and feeling more depressed as the days lag on.
My relationship is in constant flux and it’s so stressful I feel as though I’m experiencing a constant panic attack.
Even as all of this unfolds, I am getting closer to my children. They are everything to me and absolutely what keeps me going everyday.
I don’t know what is going to happen from one day to the next at this point, but at least I have these awesome little guys to keep me smiling. I just want to be the best I can for them—always.
That means I can’t focus on my husband’s attempts to punish me and make me feel like the bad guy. That means being present and accountable to them. It means trying to push aside the ever-mounting anxiety I have surrounding my marriage and trying to push through to the other side for them. Anything else is failing them. Anything else exacts a cost from the boys. I have to remember there is always an end to these things. The space I’m in today will not be the space I’m in a year from now—or even a few weeks. I just need to keep reminding myself this can and will get better—with or without the husband.
