feel like it's related to the phenomenon mitski's discussing here - if women's art is only seen as unfiltered diaristic emotion then of course it can only ever be accidental genius, never created with intention and thought

I am aware the terminology doesnt exclusively refer to one thing but I lowkey hate how "purity culture" has been watered down to someone hating sex scenes and shipping drama when a lot of it is shit like being told youre going to hell for masturbating or children being afraid to speak up about sexual abuse.

#i hate when it's used against feminist critiquing the hypersexualization and objectification of women and they're like oh you just want #purity culture. no i want women to be treated like humans and not just a sex object.#which doesn't have anything to do with whether she has sex or not.
