Sacrifice: Teen edition
In my heart, I hold a thought so true, About the things I do that often go unseen by you. Mom, you speak of your missed chances, it's fair, But let me tell you of my sacrifices, if you care.
I give up sleep and things I love to pursue, Studying hard, hoping it'll make you proud too. I skip hanging out, you see, to avoid your frown, Yet I don't complain, keeping my feelings down.
I take on work, juggling it with my school, A part of my youth, I trade as life's rule. Comparisons sting, stress becomes a friend, But I keep it inside, my strength on the mend.
Family fights and hurts, they weigh me down, But I don't talk, to avoid your worried frown. You mention your sacrifices, and that's okay, But please, remember mine in your own way.
It's not about blame, it's just how we grow, In a world of silent sacrifices, this we both know. Let's hold our love and these moments so precious, Unspoken sacrifices, but our bond, they bless.
