(Almost) every time I see a hot take on dead poets society I end up shaking my head in disappointment because how can you say that Charlie is the WORST out of all the dead poets?? What about Knox and or Cameron? Hello are we losing the plot?

Tbh none of the poets are bad. Sure cameron ratted them out but i dont think that makes him a bad person since people can change, knox isnt that bad even though he IS a creep

When I was in the play for Dead poets society, the lesson was shown where Keating explained the pressure of society by the boys‘ walks, since they eventually adapted to each other and walked at the same pace and in the same rhythm

After the play was over, the people started clapping and eventually adapted as well and in a rhythm and it was crazy to me because yes it is that deep and yes Keating was right

Also I TRIED to clap differently to show I got it but it was hard to be off „beat“ and it only proved to me how hard it is to resist social norms and conformity

Was in the theater version of Dead poets society and Charlie called himself “Simsala“ instead of Nuwanda

I‘ve heard from several different people that the dead poets society book is bad, I myself think so too, but can we talk about one of Keating‘s lessons in the book where he makes the boys take a pop quiz while showing sexualised women?

I would LOVE to read more but currently I don’t have any other books of him- but I‘m quite interested in „Die Verwandlung“ and „Der Prozess“ (also focusing on Faust 2 rn) and my very favorite song by Queen is probably either „bohemian rhapsody“ or „killer queen“ (its basic I know) but I love „love me like there’s no tomorrow“ by Freddie and „Parisienne Walkways“ by Brian may & Kerry Ellis

DAMN good music choice. I mean bohemian rhapsody is not basic—it’s genius.

And I’d recommend to you to read his other letter (Letters to Milena) before reading his works. Maybe start with something lighter—Like the castle or America, and read the trial at last (It’s a bit… different. You’d understand if you read his letters first). AND METAMORPHOSIS IS SO GOOD—

I like the plays of Goethe. I’ve sadly just read part one (I definitely wanna read the rest).

Once I visited the Kafka museum in Prague and read a little into his letters to Milena, but I‘ll definitely will try to find the time for them too! I also think Der Prozess is the trial? Just in german😭😭 Oh and I love how he hated on slow walking pedestrians ts is so magnificent ✌️

And YES I LOVE FAUST it’s so good oh my god the plot is amazing (Rip Gretchen😿)

Oh my god I literally had to FIGHT for my rights to visit the museum, we were there with our school and I grabbed my friend and dipped and the museum was so so so cool omg, I liked Prague too, especially that one castle thingie!! Where are you from? Since I‘m from Germany we had to travel there for 7 or 12 hours I can’t remember anymore 😭

Okay so I said something about native language song ship posting

Here‘s a love song in German, I‘ll write the translations here:
