something I really love about steven universe future (and the movie too) is that they kept steven fat. They could've easily made him skinny and used "he's growing up" as an excuse but no he's still fat and they're still drawing him fat. We love a fat icon
volleyball shows this off really well, especially in that glorious scene. I'm gonna be honest i was worried that itād be aĀ āstevenās a teen now he grew taller & stretched his body fat ratio outā kinda thing too but it wasn't at all. Iām really glad they kept him big, itās what makes steven steven. i love my big sonĀ

There are people who claim Spike didnāt actually love Buffy - āhe was obsessed with herā āhe just wanted to get in her pantsā āit was lustā ā¦
And I feel like part of the reason people think that is maybe they donāt actually love Buffy? Like really love her?
I donāt know if Iām explaining this right ⦠Having watched the show from the beginning, grown up and fought and cried and suffered and laughed and loved and lost along with Buffy, seen how beautiful and funny and tough and vulnerable and amazing she is as a warrior and as a person ⦠why wouldnāt Spike fall in love with her? Like, it seems impossible not to love her if you really see her.
He gets it wrong so many times, part of the charm and hilarity and heartbreak of especially s5 is him continuously trying and failing to do human behaviour and courtship after 120+ years of doing it the demon way. And then he learns, little by little, fails again and tries again. Heās slowly unearthing more of William.
But of course Spike falls in love with Buffy. Sheās effulgent as fuck.
Rewatching Fool For Love and I hadnāt quite acknowledged this the first time around, and maybe itās more potent with the added perspective on the imagery of the coat in season 7, but thereās something deeply poetic about the way that when Buffy pushes Spike to the ground and tells him that heās beneath her, echoing the scene with Cecily, his coat slips off his shoulders. In this moment heās the most emotionally vulnerable and the closest he has been to who he was the day he died that we have yet seen on screen, and when that happens the coat visibly slips out of frame onto the pavement and then remains loose around his arms in the wider shot whilst Buffy walks away. Weāve just seen exactly what the coat represents when we watched him steal it, but Buffy takes it away from him without even knowing that sheās done it and makes him feel like the person he has been pretending he never was for over a century, the person we just spent the entire episode watching him bury, and all of it is captured and distilled in just this tiny moment where the coat slides off his shoulder and he looks suddenly without armour, suddenly vulnerable
I love it
