I think there was totally an opportunity missed to make Gourdy Sprout's nephew or something, also I started to get lazy at the end :P

the summer hikaru died is a horrible tragedy about being the only gay people in your hometown and how that complicates the experience of realizing your feelings for someone, the sense of isolation and otherness you feel growing up and knowing that youre different. it's also the series where a teenage boy falls off a cliff and dies because he stopped to look at a tree shaped like a sexy lady. im not kidding btw that's literally how original hikaru died. that's the inciting incident of this whole series. he went AWOOGA and ate shit so bad he died in the forest and that's how he got replaced by an eldritch entity. anyway everybody should watch the anime the first ep is out now

The way this actually made me do a double take when I saw that panel, like you have to be fucking with me wtf do you mean he died cause he stopped to look at A TREE, I was fr convinced it was supposed to trick the reader like

BLOT IS HERE!! (Yes I know this is late 😡 I waited until I could buy him)

Here's my little drawing to celebrate! Yatta and Looey weren't originally supposed to be in their vintage costumes here, I was originally just coloring them black and white because I didn't wanna do a full render of them, but it ended up looking like them in vintage, which fits since you need both of their mastery before being able to buy blot. Also Yatta is supposed to be jumping which is easier to see in the sketch but here she looks like she's floating 🫠

Also I think that since Blot is made of ink, anyone who touches him would have ink on them afterward (Tisha definitely hates this man)

One thing I like about Blot is that Qwel didn't make him stereotypically emo like was expected. I mean, he's in a circus troupe, I would expect him to be a little energetic.
