The entire purpose of government is to make the lives of the citizens living under that government better. Not to make businesses more profit. Not to make a tiny fraction of citizens rich at the expense of everyone else.

Every time a "businessman" is elected President (i.e. George W. Bush, Donald Trump) they have been an abject failure and left the country in ruins.

Hopefully after the current national disgrace leaves office, we will finally learn our lesson.
