Andromeda felt she had been grieving for years, Regulus was so close to her, even in hiding, that it felt like there was a void in her heart that nothing could fill. She wnet to work and arrived early, thanking the moments to herself to let herself feel before Ted arrived. She had been looking for his support more than ever but she couldn’t keep worrying him.
Crying at the kitchen she took a calming tea with a couple of drops relaxing potion, just enough to get her through the rest of the night, when she heard abloud thud.
Cleaning her tears, taking her wand in hand, she moved towards the sound. It could be one of the cats that moved near the lamps, or it could be something worst, she was prepared for both.
What she saw made her freeze on the spot, on the floor was her little cousin; the one she was just grieving about; wet, thin and pale. “I’m going mad.” She mumbled to herself before she heard a groan, a fucking groan, did the ghost wanted to torment her? Wasn’t the idea of her dead cousin horrible enough?
Nut, her cat, moved to sniff the body and soon she was meowing and rubbing herself on Reg’s dead body’s hand, her cat adored Reg, she always did, but it took that to make Andy see that this wasn’t a figment of her imagination. “Reggie?” She asked softly moving near her cousin, “Please tell me is you.” She asked softly turning on the lights and examining the body to see what was wrong.
He knew what a shock this must be, but there wasn’t really much he could do about that at this point. There would be time for explanations and reassurances after they were certain he wasn’t going to die of his injuries. He thought he heard someone enter the room, and his suspicions were confirmed when he heard Andromeda mumble to herself. The cat came over to say hello, and seemed annoyed that Regulus didn’t immediately start to pet her head as he normally did.
Andy seemed apprehensive, and rightly so, but Regulus summoned the energy to croak out, “It’s me,” though the effort made him slump even farther onto the couch, his head feeling like it was made of lead. He still felt the dark magic swirling inside him, threatening to pull him under, so deep that no one would be able to pull him back up again. Regulus fought against his weak body’s urge to pass out.
“Help,” he whispered.
